I hate fedex.....

Fedex said they delivered my Caslon leather moto jacket with hood today. I have packages delivered to our office which is in a medical office building. The tracking info said they left the box at the front office door, even though our office (like most) are closed saturdays in the summer. I made a special trip in to pick it up. No box. No box anywhere in the building. Of course Nordies already issued me a credit and I’ve lodged a dispute w fedex but I’d rather have the jacket and of course it’s sold out. I hate fedex. UPS never leaves unattended packages. They return next business day. Fuming.......

Grrrr. I have had issues with them as well. My UPDGuy is wonderful. So sorry. Hopefully will turn mup.

I have had FedEx lie about deliveries so you may get it Monday. Don’t give up hope.

actually, UPS leaves unattended packages for me all the time (now, after we installed a camera)...and FedEx will sometimes and not others...and like DonnaF i've had both companies say that they have left a package hours before they actually did....

so, there may still be a chance....

Ugh. I sure hope that the jacket turns up. I had something similar happen wtih UPS last week--they supposedly left a box from Nordies at my apartment door. It turned out that they delivered it to the wrong apartment, one that was vacant--so no one noticed it was there. But boy was I ticked!

karen - IKR we give the UPS guy at the office a christmas present. He understand not just to deliver but to check for boxes going back (my staff leaves piles too.) We love him and he looks out for us. Nothing goes missing.
Donna - I'm hoping. I just sw the third person from FedEx. They are sending it to the local delivery for inquiry. They said give it to wednesday before giving up. But I've never had them lie about deliveries. That's disturbing. I have had them leave packages at a different office (who did not tell us they had it. Required a phase one search)
kkards - this is really sad news. Who can you trust? I know things go astray but they can at least be honest......
Suz - thank you. I finally got everything I wanted ordered in all sizes and I was soooooooo done with stalking. Back into stalk mode. Hopefully it won't be needed......

Gigi - but obviously it was found right? Yes, it's so annoying and infuriating. Never mess with a woman's "stuff" until she decides she doesn't want it!! The acquisition phase, well, I know I can get a little "volatile" when thwarted in this way! The sale does kind of bring out the worst in me. Repeats to self..."it's just stuff" "it's just stuff" ok but "it's stuff I want, stuff I had to super stalk, and stuff I haven't decided I don't want yet stuff"......I know I'm hopeless....

How frustrating and annoying. I hope it is found and that you get the jacket. Our recent packages from both Amazon and Nordstrom do not seem to be delivered when they are said to be. Yesterday's Amazon Fedex delivery went to Denver. We did get the package today.

Joy - wow, amazon too? I have amazon come to my home, and it's very consistently where they say the package is. There must be so much variation in local carriers. I'm so glad your package showed up!!

I’ve had issues with Fedex myself, but UPS is normally stellar. Love my UPS drivers.

I’ve actually watched a Fedex delivery guy toss a package onto my stoop from the walk way at the bottom of my stairs with me watching from my upstairs office while frantically knocking on the window to get his attention. Then he wrote out a ticket saying no one was home.

Yep, I got right on the phone. And discovered the driver told his supervisor that he rang the bell but no one was home. And that’s just one incident. I’m always a bit concerned when I see a package is shipping via Fedex.

Jaileen - no I never saw that. First I’m impressed that anyone does that kind of surveillance. And yeah, the what was he thinking. But hey he did actually deliver it. I’ve gotten way to many boxes that seem to have received that aggressive handling. So much for FedEx pride.

Grrr! I've had stuff from the same order be shipped separately, and one of the packages is missing my work suite number. Can't figure out how this happens, but eventually everything has made it my way.

I wish there was an option on all online orders to require a signature for delivery. I would gladly pay for it!

Bijou - thank you. I hope it turns up too. The driver won’t be back in till Tuesday so I’ll have to wait. And yes I’ll have much time to repeat the “stuff mantra”. Hey, you never never know, it might become the “ohmmmmm” for YLF NAS meditation

Oh, I am so sorry. What a ridiculous thing for any delivery driver to do. Our UPS guy is generally good, but then again we live rurally where it would be unlikely for anyone else to see our packages, let alone swipe them. However, our UPS guy did once leave packages for me at school instead of at home, except he left them there before a long weekend when I left early, and those packages held items my DH needed for holiday. I was lucky to find someone in the building with keys to the central office (where the packages were left) over the weekend.

I am glad that Nordies is doing their part as far as credit goes, but it is still infuriating when the item is sold out. I hope that you are somehow still able to receive your package!

Beats me, gryffin. Maybe Fedex hires the drivers UPS rejects! Thankfully, most packages I receive are shipped via UPS.

I am another that loves my UPS guy. It is the same guy Monday through Friday. He always shows up after 2:30 pm and he treats my packages like they were his own. I ADORE HIM.

featherwitch and other US fabbers...you can take much more control of your UPS shipments by joining MY UPS (and full discolsure i do not work for UPS but have had issue in the past --living in an apartment style building in a city etc etc...anyway because of past issues i've spend sometime on this....)

I have not had many issues with UPS nor Fedex, thankfully. But a few months ago I ordered a case of wine from a winery we had visited, and it required a signature. I actually watched the UPS truck drive by my house without stopping (I knew it was “out for delivery”). When I checked my email that night, it said the driver attempted to deliver it but no one was home—which was a lie. I was starting to worry since we were going away and I knew they made 3 attempts so I called UPS. The person who finally answered had a heavy accent and sounded like she was far away, judging by the call quality. I had no satisfaction from her at all, and the wine was finally delivered, while we were away, without a signature, and left on my front steps. Grrrr....

Echo - ooh the alternate delivery site debauble. I’ve had that happen. I’m so glad you were able to get your package. I do think there’s an advantage any time you can get to know your delivery person. Then there is a relationship. I do feel they make an effort.
Kate - that idea strikes me as hilarious because my son is going to be a senior in high school and we are caught up in the college admission frenzy. So UPS is the ultimate elite Ivy League and FedEx is take all comers community college? Too funny but would explain a lot - as CM will great but more I don’t care or want to be here students.
Sterling - and like our delivery guy I’m sure he feels “the love.” Our driver too is very consistent route and timing. He also knows our hours. So when we aren’t there he delivers next business day. But you are a lucky duck to have such s great guy!!! Delivery security, it’s the best!!
Kkards- that’s fascinating. I had no idea you could do that. I wonder if FedEx has similar. Either way it would probably make you a higher priority customer. So thanks so much for posting!!

Aquamarine - this is heavy box syndrome. The weekend UPS guy only leaves boxes unattended if they are super heavy. Probably figures if he doesn’t want to lift them no one else does either! But so glad you got your wine but sloppy and infuriating!!

I have had a fake signature at a business address. This was FedEx in downtown Chi. Far more problems with FedEx than UPS.

Donna - misery does love miserable company, but that's so sad to know so many others have had equally annoying problems. I have never had problems with FedEx with overnight letters with signatures, that seems to work well but I will choose any other option than FedEx if a choice of carriers is presented. Even USPS does it better IMHO, but again we know our mail carrier well at the office and home. Holliday gifts and courtesy go a long way in achieving good will.

Soooo, UPS only leaves unattended packages at our front door. How does that work?

I also quite often have my UPS packages delivered to the next door neighbour by mistake.

Angie - that's awful. I order a tremendous amount from amazon.com which usually comes UPS and rarely does the carrier slip up. Obviously, the quality of the local carriers differs. So frustrating. I'm still hopeful the package will be found. I am also in the zen mode, if it's not meant to be, then it wasn't meant to be. Next.... This is a want, The Pendleton was a true need. So I've had an awesome NAS not matter what happens. Of course my husband could not understand "what do you mean you can't look at your old coat any more" It's 10 yo and I have worn it almost every day October to April. Of course my husband also can't remember what it looks like even though I wear it every day!! So I don't think he counts, but he did really like the Pendleton!

I wish they’d let you pick the carrier. I’ve always had trouble with FedEx and UPS. USPS could always get into the buildings where I’ve lived, but the other two, not.

Plus, UPS and FedEx, in my last apartment complex, would ‘hide’ packages under the door mats. Let me tell you, a doormat does NOT hide a box. Esp when it’s 4’ tall. Ridiculous! I laugh even now.
