I had to try the skull poncho...

I used a discount code. But still. And of course I love it - it's grey! with fringe! and cashmere! and skulls! - but I think it's too long. At the same time, I don't know that I want a poncho that fits my petite stature. I like the drama here. But it's all wrong, right? It's also not fitted, although I'm thinking I could use some kind of clip to make it narrower as in pic 2.

Talk me down, people!

Also, how often are you standing stick straight? If you like how it looks in motion I don't know that it's necessary to make narrower.

Oh yes. Also also. I ordered the stripey poncho that Janet has and, of course, am nowhere near as tall as she is. Because I too want an overly dramatic poncho! Will let you know how that works out

I think it looks nice. I also think that the fact that it has a fringe makes it look more fluid and not as long. It is so interesting you simply cannot pass it up ! Sorry Lisap:)

I like the length! The fringe keeps it looking lighter I think, like the real length is shorter and the fringe is just decoration. Plus a skull poncho has to be dramatic! A tailored skull poncho?

Keep it for a ton of fun!

I was so resigned to packing this up and sending it back, because I was sure people would think it was too big and overwhelming, despite my love for it. I was specifically thinking of another member, maybe Rute, who posted a poncho that got voted too big. I mean, I'm barely 5'2".

Don't get me wrong - I adore it and will happily keep, but what makes this work?

I think it is one of those intangible things. I am tall and it would probably be the "right" size on me, but it would be so wrong because however much I love it I am not a skull poncho type. Suz was on the wrong end of that with the skirted leggings of controversy quite a few months ago.

I think it's fabulous. If you ignore the fringe it's barely to your knees so I don't see anything wrong with the proportions. It's a dramatic look that totally works on you. Plus you love it, and to my mind that's what always seals the deal.

I'm the worst analyst on what makes things work or not, but here are my uneducated thoughts: Cashmere is light and drapey, not bulky. The fringe is long and flowy, so both those factors will help this piece move with you instead of overwhelming. The colour's light, too, and the print is muted and subtle, not in-your-face. IMO that makes the piece look higher end, edgy sophisticated. Then there's your colouring and the fact you styled the piece with the grey and boots, which grounds the look. The overall effect with your stunning hair is gorgeous. Finally, it's your style and you love and *own* it. That comes through in your pics.

Plus, the fringe on the poncho echoes kitty's tail! S/he just had to get in the picture to send the subtle message, "Keep....keep...Keeeep...I can't wait to get my claws in that and make it my own."

I'm with Sally and Aliona. It may go against conventional wisdom but it's working for you. I'm taller and it would probably fit my height better but not my style. You love it -- it loves you.

I'm enjoying my poncho enough that I'm fighting the urge to go get the solid burgundy AT one. I don't need two, right? Especially since I'm about to spend a month on the ranch? Sometimes being sensible is hard.
