Today is my first full day at home, with nothing pressing to do, in probably four years! I am exhausted but happy. I graduated on Friday with a BFA in illustration. I scored tickets for my whole family (except, heartbreakingly, my mum, who passed away the week before Christmas 2015) to come to convocation. I wanted my school-aged kids to see me cross the stage. I can't quite articulate why that's important, but I think it is. And then (this is shameless bragging, but I'm sooooo delighted) I got the Governor General's medal for academic achievement, which basically means I got the highest GPA in my program (which I had not realized, and therefore was not expecting). Woot!
I spent the day indulging in Outlander on TV, with a side dish of YLF. I'm excited (and apprehensive!) about starting a freelance career, but for now, it's time to rest and catch up!
