Aaaaaaand we've reached the critical temperature at which I no longer care about fashion. Happens every summer. It's pretty early this year -- only June! -- and I'm sitting here in a linen tank and shorts, with little rivulets of perspiration beading down the side of my face. And it's nearly six in the evening! Crazy.
I've long since given up on trying to find ways to feel stylish in the heat. People say they can do it, but I can't. When it's hot enough that you're sweating even when you're naked, what's the point of trying? Even the lightest, airiest little dress is still going be all damp in ten minutes. Makeup won't stay on. Hair becomes a curly mess. They say it's going to be a long, hot summer, and I fully intend to not care about how I look for the entire time -- unless I'm going to the movies and it's air conditioned.
Who else takes a style hiatus in the summer? It's kind of freeing.
