It’s been a while.

I had some realizations while working through my spring capsule planning.

The first is that the “jeans and a printed top” formula doesn’t work for me. I need to stop buying statement blouses, because I’d much rather wear a column of color or a base of essentials and use accessories to bring the interest.

Second, that doesn’t mean I don’t need need statements. Statements make dressing fun and they bring LIFE to a seasonal capsule.

I’ll write more about what that means for my spring capsule when I post about it in the next few weeks, but in the meantime, the practical result is that I bought a new statement piece and I love it.

Pic 1 is the new piece—a viscose/linen duster jacket. Just for fun, pics 2 and 3 are outfits from the winter capsule. 4 and 5 are today, when I cheated on the capsule for St. Patrick’s Day. My lineage is Scotch-Irish, so orange, but there’s a bit of green in there too.
