I just hit the "submit order" button on my almost $600 Nordies order. 4 pairs of Kut jeans, and 4 jackets.
I'll only keep one jacket (if any) and one or 2 jeans, but still..... yikes!

I only ordered different sizes in the jeans... 2 sizes of skinnies, and 2 sizes of a bootcut.
I ordered 4 different jackets all in small. the Casilon moto in washed luggage and coal, the Casilon ruffle trim in bordeaux and the ....(hyperventilate) Guess leather in purple. I about fainted when I saw the back view of that one. If that one works out then it is my very early birthday gift to myself.

and yes, it's only temporary and I figured I was safer shopping on line than in the store where I have to walk by the shoes to get in and out of the store.

I recently did the same thing with the Kut Kloth skinnies, I just hope I receive, decide and return before my credit card statement.

I know how you feel. I felt that way about the one pair of boots in my cart! Now I'm thinking about doing the same as you after reading all of the glowing reviews of those jeans!

Kelly- I got a pair of Kut bootcuts last year at the Rack and LOVE them. For that price I'd definitley say check out the skinnies.

I get the same anxiety, even if I KNOW at least half of my order will be returned because of sizing issues.

I placed a second NAS order last week that included a dress suit for my husband and jackets for my kids. THAT was a big order. *gulp*

With all the ordering and returning I'm doing at the moment, I'd say I have almost $1,000 swimming out there, 60% of which will be returned.

Good strategy, Kim! I was in the shoe department yesterday and it is hard to walk away without a load..so many to choose from! I never made it to any other department!

DH " What is this $$$$$ charge from -insert store-?"

Oh - this reminds me to return that extra stuff riding around in the back of my car BEFORE my credit card cut-off date. . . I am so glad my husband does not look at our statements. I can hardly stand to look at them - even when I have $$$$ worth of returns pending ;-\

We are cut from the same cloth Kim, I saved for the family holiday but wanted the extra protection booking by credit card offered (UK Law). Even though when the statement arrived I had the money to pay the bill in full I needed a good dose of the Victorian smelling salts to bring me around. Saying a figure out loud and seeing the amount written on paper are two very different things.

I know all about that hyperventilating! My last crazy order was over $1,500!!! Beware the returns though... I decided to return in person to save shipping costs back and came out with $300 more worth of shoes! Darn it! I still need to return a $193 pair of shoes I bought in that manic moment. Every time I look at the box I feel sort of sick and I'm terrified of carrying it back to the store... Must.Not.Go.Inside.During.NAS

I go through that everytime I spend more than my mental budget (the one in my head) on anything. When I had to fork out $120 for my winter boots I was trembling I've never paid that much for shoes in my life. You guys are lucky that you can return things so easily, Aussie retailers will only accept a return if the garment is faulty and apparently wrong size isnt considered faulty!!

puffenstuff - I found the same when I lived in Jamaica and also in Italy. I was astonished, insulted and all in a tizzy the first time I was given a problem returning something in Jamaica. I mean to tell you - I was OUTRAGED!

I had a lot of issues there at first because I didn't understand cultural differences. I thought it was clear I was being discriminated against. LOL - now I know they DID indeed think I was a crazy woman "from foreign" as they said, but the anti-return thing was not personal.

This is one thing I do like about America - you can return virtually anything! Even bathing suits and lingerie! Wow!

LOL Kim, I need to remember your strategy.

I recall a day last winter that I went to Nordies for 36 dollars worth of undies, passed the shoe dept on the way out and ended up with my first pair of Fryes. DH was even with me, and he's usually very good at steering me away from anything tempting.

It's a tribute to the power of the shoe dept that not even DH could help me shore up my self-control :O

I went through the exact same thing ordering bras! The ones I mailed back have been received, but I'm still waiting to be refunded $650 for the returns. In the meantime I try not to freak out every time I check my bank balance!

That is so funny, Queenie, and so true! Not only do you have to walk by the shoe department, but then if you stop to look you run the risk of being spotted by a golden-tongued salesperson.

Has anyone ever asked their DH/SO to do their return for them? That would solve the (insert your department of choice here) temptation problem. . .

However, the few times I have done that I actually taped the receipt to the item -- my DH is notorious for losing paper. . . :-\

I couldn't even IMAGINE sending my husband into Nordstrom or anywhere else to make returns for me. In a million years he would never do that. But more power to any of you who could get your DH or SO to do that
