MNSara - I've never asked my husband to shop for me, but my mom told me today that she sent my dad to a Restoration Hardware about an hour away with instructions about returning two curtain panels and buying a curtain rod (but "only if it was on sale" ... and he could pick any style out "as long as it was black"). THEN, if the curtain rod was on sale, he could pick out finials. Apparently, he was taking notes as she spoke. My dad is NOT a shopper and could not care less about curtain rods and finials. He's a stereotypical CPA. But he has a heart of gold and went along with my mom's orders. I can't wait to find out how he did on his mission.

Anne - what a good sport!

Oh, I forgot all about how Nordies returns aren't your typical $9.99 Target item that I have sent my husband on (with taped receipt). My DH does NOT need to know what my shoes/jackets/sweaters/boots/jeans/you-name-it cost. . .

queenie - I know you are an excellent seamstress, but when I shopped NAS they mentioned that NAS purchases are considered regular price for their alterations policy. Others know the specifics better than I, but they do the basic alterations for free - like hems. Something to keep in mind as you try on your loot

Queenie I hope that you have had suffient time to stop hyperventilating - and are now enjoying anticipating your loot! I certainly can't wait to see it!!

Sara- you are so right... my husband would have an apoplexy if he knew how much some of my clothes cost. But it's more just the fact that he hates doing returns. Even somewhere like Home Depot.
For returns to my local mall I often send my boys.... even to Macy's, but Nordstrom is more of a trek so I have to do that myself.
Anne- that is hilarious. I remember sending my dad to the store after one of my kids was born (my husband had to leave town) and told him to get cheerios. He came back with some sort of sugar filled garbage because "that's what my 3 yo pointed to"
I got my first e-mail shipping confirmation already this morning... let's just hope it doesn't come on Saturday

Good, God, I would NEVER send my husband to do returns to a department store...pick out thread or patterns from Joann's, yes...but holy smokes, as far as he's concerned, the sum total worth of my wardrobe is about $20.

Today's conversation went like this:
DH- "OK, you returned $$ to Nordstrom. What is the $$$ charge for?"
Me- "Underwear"
DH- "Underwear!? It doesn't even show!"
Me- "That's the point."

He has returned things in the past for me to both Nordstrom and Anthropologie. He even talked the clerk at Anthro into refunding the shipping charge (which wasn't supposed to be refunded).

This thread is hilarious! Queenie, I hope you like your new purchases!

I would never, ever in a million years send my husband to return items. He would come out with a whole new wardrobe and no money left!
