How many things are in your house right now, waiting to be returned?

I have two. My Gap Perfect Bootcut jeans (the fit is good but the ones I got have whiskering at the thigh that is not my style), and one of the two pairs of Me Too wedge pumps I ordered recently. I got silver and red; the red is a half-size bigger and fits better, so the silvers are going back.

What about you? Is there a pile building up somewhere in your house, and can I challenge us all to take care of our returns this week?

I have a gold coat, it got the YLF thumbs up but I think it's not long enough for the winter so it's awaiting return x

None currently! I don't tend to do many returns though as I don't really internet shop and tend not to rethink my purchases too much. Instead I spend twenty minutes in the shop thinking about it.

one definite (the teal sweater that got voted down)
2 maybes (the two remaining birthday scarves that I have 2 months to decide on)

When I make a definite decision to return, it gets bagged and sits by my bedroom door. Items that I'm deciding on get hung in my closet as to not add more clutter to my floor.
If I don't get it returned today, I will definitely get that done on Friday.

I have:
-3 definites in the car (two pajama tops from Kohls that were too big, and a gray sweater from ON)
-the Noya shoes on the kitchen table to be re-shipped to Zappos
-4 undecided pieces still in the closet (the new boots from Piperlime, a military green Calvin Klein boyfriend blouse, a pair of Gap long bootcuts in black -- not sure if I need another pair or these-- and a Target skirt)
-a pair of long Long & Lean jeans in dark rinse from Gap still waiting to be taken out of the package and tried on.
-a lamp and two lampshades from Target (don't ask)

I can't tell if I am extra indecisive right now, or shopping a little too impulsively lately, or if the fact I have to order so much online instead of in the store because of my size is impacting the excessive amount of returning I am doing lately. But it feels like a lot, and I am a big returner! I am going to have to ponder what is going on...

* slippers to Nordstrom's
* handbag to Nordstrom's

Kristen - I will be interested to hear what your take is on your "returning" spree - I was experiencing a similar thing, which was what prompted me to think, gee, do I need to do SYC? Angie suggested (in my case) that once I thought I had the basics down to "road test" the wardrobe for a bit to see where the holes are. Which doesn't necessarily mean a strict shopping ban (well, to me, anyway).

I know I am returning more because I'm being very hardcore about loving everything or it doesn't stay. Part of that is knowing how little things add up ($$-wise) and that I still probably have some holes to fill. If I just fill my wardrobe with little things that don't fit great or that I don't love, I potentially can't get that investment piece that might be my wardrobe workhorse.

I have one "maybe" Its a calvin klein shirtdress I picked up impulsively at nordstrom last week. I like many things about it but I'm not sure how much wear I will get out of it. Plus is would need altering since it looks too big when its unbelted and looks bunchy when belted. But i still like it....

No clothes to return, though early next week I will have some possibilities arriving from an order that I placed. Two winter dresses & a pair of microcheck trousers to try out. I hope that they will all work, but who knows.

However, you CAN challenge me to make my return of a tea container I purchased at Teavana recently. I got one of the big metal airtight tea containers filled with orange spice tea, and when I got home I couldn't open the lid! My boyfriend couldn't either. I've been anxious to try this tea at home so I really should see if they will exchange the container.

I just returned 2 tunics to Macys, my blowfish wheaton booties to Piperlime (the 3.5 inch heel just hurt my bad ankle too much) and today I want to return 3 sweaters to JCP and a tunic (just cant find one that works!) to CC.....I NEED to stop shopping online so much- I end up returning more than half of what I buy and the shipping costs really count up

Zappos-Joe's jeans, I thought they were jeans, but the stretch makes them like leggings, not what I wanted and I have two sizes of them.

Zappos-Booties, 3 pairs, two different styles, the one I liked had a mark on it, so I asked for a new pair to be sent. But now I purchased new footwear at the YLF meet up so all 3 need to go back.

Express-Cardigan, which I love, but is 100% wool, and that's too high a wool count for me. I need wool in a blend to wear it.

Nordstrom-Cords, I have a pair of bootcut cords, but recently purchased a skinny version at Gap. I don't need two pairs of cords.

Looks like I should get to the stores!

Nordstrom: Halogen OTK boots and Miz Mooz oxfords
Endless: Miz Mooz Kailia boots, possibly Nicole Kindles in a size 7. I ordered the 6.5 to compare from Piperlime.
H&M: Blazer that is a lot shinier than I'm comfortable with. I lost the receipt though
Macy's: May be returning the Hue leggings I got if the Gap ones I ordered are superior (in all likelihood, they are).

This is very funny and the timing is great ! Let's say ALOT and there is more to come - I ordered four pairs of pants for my son in the wrong size. So all of the returns I have are clothes for my children and a couple of plastic kitchen containers that were too small.

0 that belong to me. A certain YLF member has some shoes in multiple sizes awaiting to try on and then what doesn't fit will go right back.

I've gotten much better at returning store items than I used to be.

the winter "gear" coat I posted on, I decided it was two tight in the chest

my replacement sweatshirt --- it is too tight around the hips and rides up funny

I will return them this week, along with maybe 8 shirts that were ordered for my mother and she accidentally left here

I have a pearl ring I ordered from QVC that I have to get mailed back this week and 3 place settings of Fiestaware in my car to get exchanged at Macy's.

I'll probably be returning a shirt I recently bought from Kohl's for my husband. It looked so nice before I washed it, I hardly recognized it afterward.

I am not looking to return any but have 2 items I *could* return if needed. One being the zipper ballet flats I'm trying desperately to break in in the house (but I've worn them out on pavement so that point may now be moot) and the other being the 3/4 sleeve black flyaway cardigan I just bought when I found the long sought brown cardi. I am not much of a returner in general but did return 2 different cardis over the last 2 months. I usually stake out an item and go visit it 2 or 3 times before it comes home if it's not love at first sight. I have done this 'visiting' for as long as I can remember and sometimes it's lead to losing out on something I wish I'd gotten, but more often than not, I debate the purchase and eventually keep it if I decide to buy it.

Way too many! I have things that need to go back to Nordstroms, Endless, Ann Taylor and Old Navy.

I spent the afternoon sorting out what needs to be returned but there are quite a few I need to make up my mind about. The most troublesome are two coats - I like the shape but am being picky about the weight. After wearing fleece for years, actual wool coats are just too heavy.

Nothing to be returned. I rarely return items I buy, usually only if they are defective.
I am about as certain as I can be when I purchase something....not saying I don't make the occasional trip to return, but it is rare.
