YES. I have, and a few times over. Excluding basics and accessories - 125 to 170 items - depending on how well I shop in a year.
23 of the items are bags, but I don't wear shorts and t-shirts, and I don't have a lot of footwear. This keeps the number lower. I also keep things well edited and curated. Churn for some items is very high, and for other items very low. I refresh seasonally and keep things moving.
I see a LOT of wardrobes in my line of work. I have seen it all. Wardrobes with 18 items, and wardrobes with hundreds of items and counting....
I support ALL size wardrobes as long as the wardrobe can be adequately and sufficiently stored, managed, worn - and sparks joy.
I'm AS impressed with a very large wardrobe as I am with very small wardrobe if it's dead right for the wearer's needs and wants.
A moderately sized wardrobe is dead right for me because: I'm in the fashion industry, have limited storage space, live in 4 seasons, turnover some items fast, and like to wear the heck out of my clothes. More and my control freak self loses control. Less and I don't have enough fun with fashion.
I also give into my wants. I don't need 23 bags - I want them because bags are my thing. I use them, can afford them at this point, can store them, appreciate them, and look after them. They spark tremendous joy, so I see no reason to be minimal about it at this stage of my life!
You can be minimal if that makes you happy. I am always on the side of the wearer and what works best for them.
