I am really trying to build up my bag wardrobe. Have a great yellow one, but it's a no-go with my yellow Born ballet flats. Have a boho-esque brown hobo that doesn't get used much. Really just use the yellow one right now.

How many do you currently have?

Edit 22!! I just found another 2 evening bags. How many of those do I need!!!! x

Oh, oh - I'm sure I have nowhere near the largest collection, but my laziness about rotating/using them gives me great guilt.

I just sold two bags on Ebay - gorgeous, large, completely unused because of shoulder and neck fussiness. So, this is a good exercise for me to actually count and may be an incentive to release even more!

I have as many bags as my years. And I am NOT apologizing for this obsession. Quite honestly, I should insure my bag and boot collection.

But I do adopt "a one in one out" policy so the collection will never grow in numbers and I have the space to hold and display all my beautiful and well cared for handbags.

I go through phases: sometimes I use a bag a lot - then I am off it. Evening bags come out to play less often, but all my bags come out to play. No orphans.

I have 1 gorgeous red leather bag and the matching black one. I also have a simple black evening clutch. And finally there is a lovely cream bag waiting to be opened under the Christmas tree! So for now I have a basic but perfect bag for almost any occasion. The collection will grow (& grow & grow) after my "needs" list is complete.

Mae--- sorry, couldn't let you win for the least bags. Currently I have . . . "0"---- that is unless you count the one that was in the car accident with me the other day. It was a fabric tote style that someone had given me years ago and now has both blood and red drink stains on it. It isn't even worth the money to have it professionally cleaned, and my efforts are futile.

I have a bunch in the donate pile that don't count.

Without that, I'm rotating between three. I am seriously frustrated and resentful towards designers of vegan bags. They seem to come in the following categories:

-Desperately trying to channel fussy designer bags (Big Buddha, Melie Bianco)
-Cheap, fallapart bags that are only vegan to save money (Target, Forever 21, H&M)
-Ridiculously priced (Stella McCartney, Matt & Nat)
-Sporty, bohemian, bordering on gear bags

I don't think I'll ever really be able to enjoy bags or bag shopping because of that. For now I rotate between my white crossbody from H&M (which has started to peel), my black Big Buddha Valentino knockoff, and a green petal-y bag Angie donated to me (also starting to show signs of wear).

I have two clutches that never get used, the one bag that I am currently carrying (which is starting to fall apart and badly needs replacing) and two crossbodies that I would love to replace with something higher quality. So, 5 in total- only one that I am currently using.

I am-- my car is not, but that is another matter! I think after a week of going around with pockets filled with the contents of my purse it is time find another.

Louise, I have several red and cream bags. A few black too. Different moods and levels of dressiness. I do not own any brown bags.

I do not have a purple or turquoise bag (poor me). I have been looking for the perfect ones for years. I also want a fuschia bag.

Btw, I don't count my red bags - thats the only colour that is allowed to overflow

I have 3. My everyday bag is brown leather across body bag with a tan silhouette of a tree on it. It's just big enough to hold my laptop, a cardigan, and all of the basics!

I also have a summery woven purse (with a leather strap) from fossil, and a small gray leather purse with a thin strap that can be tucked inside so it doubles as a clutch.

I have WAY more gear bags though...

This is an area of my wardrobe that definitely needs updating. Currently I have 9 bags, but all are cheapies from Target, Kohls, and second hand stores exceot for one from Macy's and a small vintage snakeskin clutch. By the end of SYC all can go except the clutch, so I've been looking on-line at choices and want fewer but good bags. I may start a separate thread about this. It's overwhelming me.

Don't mean to thread jack--- yes Angie-- on tuesday the driver in front of me caused a three car pile up. I was rear-ended by two drivers going about 50 miles an hour. Needless to say, the frame on my car was twisted. I wasn't seriously injured (nor was anyone else, as far as I am aware) but because of my heart condition the soft tissue stuff is healing slowly.

Oh, Elly - It's good that you are 'okay' and on the mend! I hope things get resolved (car/insurance) as quickly and smoothly as possible! Definitely time to get a new bag -- insurance might cover that too. . .

For my purses, it's not as bad as I thought: 26 bags (including 6 clutches) with two more designated to depart soon.

Although I could easily get by with 3 spring/summer and 3 fall/winter, and a couple special occasion clutches, considering how I dislike switching bags. . . I could never figure out which bags I would be most content with though. . .

A few of the bags are such distinct color: citron, teal, fuchsia that I need to switch out of them usually within a few days.

A few more are a color that functions more neutrally: cobalt, yellow, medium blue, chestnut. So I can usually carry them for weeks at a time.

I don't own a single black bag!!

My handbag situation is pretty dismal. I have my new Fossil crossbody, and old, burnt orange Franco Sarto (my go to bag), and a black/brown patent structured bag that doesn't really go with much for some reason. It might just be too business-y for my casual style. I also have a grey and a black evening clutch but I think DD#2 has them stashed with her dress up stuff. Haven't seen those in awhile.

I have just a few, ten tops. I edited my handbag collection a while back and only kept the ones that are of better quality and get used the most.

That left me with my 3 MBMJ's: in black cognac and taupe. They are all different styles. I'm a big Marc Jacobs fan

I tend to wear the black thru the winter, the taupe is my summer bag and the cognac is mostly spring and fall.

I don't change bags at all.I don't really like to match my bag to anything either,so this small collection works for me.
I have some smaller, more colorful wristlets, crossover bags and evening bags that get used here and there.

I have always been a one bag girl, but I am working on switching it up. At the moment I have the following in rotation:

Green Coach tote
Purple Dooney croc satchel
Red cheapie hobo-ish bag with pockets on the outside
Yellow Dooney logo canvas tote

I own the following but they are not really in rotation:

Aunt Catherine's cognac leather Gucci bag
Two vintage black Dooney all-weather leather bags, one simple hobo with tan trim, one more structured with cognac trim. These are both unused so far (bought them from eBay last year and then decided to use the purple one for everyday), but I just dragged them out and I think they will be fab for this fall and winter.

And I just traded in my DSW rewards certificate for a small turquoise cross-body bag.

Oh, and one black evening clutch and a purple quilted evening shoulder bag with a gold chain.

1 have two small crossbody bags that I use most often on the weekends: one blue and one apple green.
4 medium - large size totes that I alternate throughout the week to coordinate with my outfits: red, blue, beige and a logo print one in brown-burgundy.
I also have one work tote that accommodates my laptop. It is quite bulky and not very feminine-looking, so I've been on the hunt for another one whole summer. I am thinking of putting that hunt on the back burner for now though. I decided to walk to and from work each day as exercise. It is only a 20 minute walk each way with no elevation, so it should be pretty doable, but I need a backpack to fit all my stuff and not give myself back pain in the process. I have a basic, gear backpack that I will be using for now, but if I can make an habit out of it, I want to eventually get a nicer-looking one perhaps in pleather or even leather.

I have 6 hand bags that I use regularly, in purple, green, turquoise, red, tan and silver. I also have a green gear-ish cross body that I use frequently, and a Fossil eggplant-colored cross body.

I have one evening bag as well.

I currently have 6 bags-- black crossbody, black clutch, brown crossbody, brown/cream, red, and grey-- that I use constantly along with a couple Longchamps foldup totes and a beaded black clutch for dressy occasions. I also have two vintage 80's Coach bags (medium brown and dark green) that I still pull out for some outfits.

All my bags are good to high quality. I quit buying inexpensive bags after I had a bad experience with one in an airport while going to a conference. The zipper broke and I had to hold the stupid thing together with elastic and string until I got to my destination. Very classy! And I have to to admit, I am just not a fan of the shiny, plastic look of most imitation leather.
