Hi,

Well I can't SYC if I keep going to the mall. But I couldn't resist checking out Ann Taylor after Angie's praise here and then Sarah's praise here. Especially knowing I need some layering pieces for spring summer. And I am so sick of the snow already, I needed cheering up. (and yes on my way home it was snowing, again!)

It's too dark to take photos right now so here are some links. I was drooling in the store, the materials are great, the colors very flattering and the animal prints are divine! It is very true, the website does NOT do these pieces justice. I was fitting in my standard size for the bulk of their tops.

So my haul was:

1-This top in a gorgeous animal print here. What I really like, the draping is very kind to the midsection.

2-And then the same top but in a solid (putty) as a layering piece.

3-This dotted top which I really like because it's not a knit and it's machine washable.

4-This wrap in wet stucco.

5-I needed a new pair of jeans to tuck with boots since I am wearing boots almost everyday with our weather at the moment, and I hope to wear them with heels come spring. I have not tried their jeans before so I hope they hold up well without stretching.

6-I got side tracked by the sale section and I do not see the color online, but it's a lighter, more purple blue than the navy shown here. Another top the color is called smudgy plum.

7-I do not see the non petite version of this in navy online, but they did have this in the store.

If there are items you are eyeballing and you have a similar fit to me, these are items I liked but did not fit me well.

a-This top has shoulder pads in it, and I looked like a line backer, but I am already broad.

b-This top is very pretty but the front draping, was too much for my chest, perhaps a bustier gal can fill it out better? (I'm a 32C if that helps) Or maybe I just don't care for this style draping on a top.

c-This material was not soft enough for my taste.

d-I like the wrap idea a LOT, and the material is nice and thick not sheer. But this was too short and too tight, even two sizes up yet the lady next to me, was tiny, tiny petite and it looked FAB on her.

e-This dress would need a cami. Which is fine, but clung to every bulge.

f-I would love a non pair of blue jean, jeans since I wear jeans everyday. These were so close to fitting well, but did not pass my sit down test (I sat and too much bum showed). A shame really.

g-I did not try this top on, since I already had an animal print but in person, it is delicious! So is the dress version.

h-This cardigan I would have needed a size up if I had liked the crew neckline.

i-This top is very cute but I would have needed one size up.

j-This sweater is really nice except even the SA said they have been baffled by the low unflattering neckline.

Yes I will try to stay away from the stores to restart SYC in Feb.
