2015 was truly the season of coats for me. After years of purchasing "make do's" at Costco, and wanting something more interesting, I kept missing my size, or not finding anything in a colour/cut I liked, or not having the money (I do admit I didn't look that hard becaue I DID have things that were perfectly "fine")... well, that all ended this year. Some of you saw my posts earlier about the cloth coats I found. And my recent one about the puffer I found.

Well.

A 15-20 year old HEWI just fell into my lap.

Are you sitting down?

A black shearling coat Well, if you all approve, of course.

Here's the back story... I need to tell you, so you don't think I'm totally off my rocker. I have a brown one, which I bought for myself in Scotland in the late 80's or early 90's. A huge treat for me at that point in my life. So yes, oversized. And brown. I still wear it, because it is the warmest, coziest thing, and is perfect for the biting Atlantic winds we can get in the winter here. But it's so oversized. And did I mention, brown? It also has buttons up the front, and a zipper would be so much better for cutting those aforementioned winds. I've wanted to replace it with a black one for years. But they are VERY costly, black is VERY hard to find, and then there's the whole fit thing. The place I got my original one has closed (which had quite reasonable prices) but even checking there periodically over the years, they never had black.

Anyhoo... in steps my beloved Danier. I saw this last year, but it had sold out by the time it went on sale. And I thought it had this year as well, but I went to return some gloves I'd bought for my mother that didn't work, and there it was.... many many many $$ off.....

Ticks so many boxes! Not only the black, the zipper, and an asymmetrical one at that :), but also the length is so great - long enough for dresses, but not so long as to drag on the floor of the car.

Here you go. You are allowed to tell me it's not a keeper, but let me tell you now, you need to be pretty convincing in order for me to consider taking this baby back.

And that is IT! All the coats I could possibly need for winter, and then some...
