Killer

I love this coat in black. It's absolutely perfect! It's better than the new puffer. Perhaps return the black puffer for one in a another colour.

I love love love it. I would wear that in a heartbeat! Looks perfect on you.

LOL UmmLila, that's me, all ahead of the style curve

Angie, I get your point... two black coats might be a bit much. However... I do love black. And if I thought I could find a coloured one that I like, that fit, without a whole bunch of shipping costs, I might be tempted to wait. I just don't know if/when that will happen. I tried on a Lands End one recently (a friend got one) and it had the usual fit on the shoulders, huge everywhere else thing going on, which was quite disappointing as I've been eyeing their coats for some time. I will think about it a bit more.

That's a beautiful coat on you, it fits you very nicely.
Is that the Arabella? Did you go with your usual Danier size or did you go up a size? I should not shop now though...

Yes Joyce, it is. And I did go with my normal Danier size. Go for it, it's a beautiful coat!

I didn't know you only had two black coats. I thought you had MANY more. You're sorted with two! Keep and enjoy.

Well, Angie, my initial reaction to your comment was "Busted!" because when I wrote that, I was thinking two NEW black coats, not two black coats, total. But your comment has made me take stock, and I realized that apart from the past couple of years, I have never had a black winter coat! (Full disclosure: I do have a few for other seasons)

When I figured my colours out threeish years ago, I got rid of a few coats that were all wrong. I have a few left over that aren't great on me, but there is still something about them that is "useful". A dark purple puffer... marshmallow style, total gear, and will likely get purged after this season as I don't think I've worn it in a couple of years. My brown sheepskin, and a charcoal grey car coat that is just so easy to throw on because it has a zipper up the front. This will also likely go now I have the navy J.Crew stadium cloth coat... very similar functions. I also have a deep red puffer that I still wear and like. My ski jacket is white with turquoise and purple. My two most recent coats (apart from this year) are both black... both from Costco. A pea coat (also probably to be replaced with the navy coat, we'll see if I wear it this winter), and a puffer that is "fine" but I've never loved it. So-so fit, so-so warmth, and the dreaded brown fur on the hood. What I've been looking for to supplement all this is a coat that is really WARM.

My new cloth coats are navy, citron and black/white animal print.

Thank you for "forcing" that investigation of my coats... it was good for me! And now I think you see (as do I) why I'm fine with my ultra warm coat being black.

And I am going to make a note somewhere that I have three coats to purge if they don't get worn this year.

So, there's *one* thing, and one thing only, that could improve that coat:

Put Sam in the pictures!

That coat is jaw dropping gorgeous on you. The fit, the classic, yet fresh lines, everything. You rock it to the moon and back. Enjoy and stay warm. (Don't tell me exactly how warm it is, because it has been killer cold here for the first time this winter and I am already desperate.)

Ok....this one is AWESOME! What's not to love??!! It's PERFECT!

Wow! This is AMAZING on you, and such a cool history to the search. What an enormous score! So happy for you!

This is stunning, Elizabeth. So sleek and yet warm! Sometimes you have to go with HEWIS when you find them!

When I find a HEWI, I buy it. No questions asked.

Ooh, I approve very much! From one black coat lover to another, you must keep this coat. Especially because it's such an incredible find!

Well the tags are off and I've worn it the last couple of days to work. It's so perfect for the East Coast bone chilling damp winter air !

HEWI LOVE!!!! Look at it this way: I have and wear only one coat, a trench, very rarely so someone should have and needs to buy my *quota*. That may as well be you! I live in a mildish climate and keep my house so cold that I need to bundle up inside so only need a light top layer for those short periods when I venture outside.

Love the way you think Donna... consider your quota fully completed by me this year

I love this on you, it's polished yet somewhat bad-a$$ too. Like you are a member of MI6 on a mission to thwart a plot to b0mbe NY Fashion Week. Yes I see MI6 caring more about style than the CIA.
