Holy Fashion Flashbacks!

Ms.Maven made me think of this in another thread and I thought some of you might get a laugh.

Here are two photos of me from the 80's. 1988 to be exact. I have my head shaved in the 2nd one, though I did leave copious bangs for poofage.

The salon I worked in...we had several who sported a variation of this style. Oh , this takes me back. Doing hair in the 80's was the MOST fun I had doing hair EVER!!!

Thanks for the comments, guys! Now if only people thought it was fab at the time! I used to have people cursing at me from moving vehicles. For whatever reason, the look made people really angry! Of course that only encouraged me.

The only thing that made me giggle is that your hair reminded me of the lead singer from the band Roxette from the late 80's and the song that came to mind when I looked at your photos was "It must've been love, but it's all over nooooooowwww, must've been good, but I've lost it somehow......" Tee-hee! Thank you so much for the memories of when I was young (and trying hard but not being nearly so successful as being as cool as you!)

Oh, you looked like you meant business! Poor you with the random insults. My friend got screamed at all the time too (she had a Siouxsie look) -- so ridiculous in a post-punk world!

I just had a permed mullet, sigh.

[It's kind of amazing that people's hair didn't fall out of their head what with all the bleaching, dying, perming, blow-drying and hairspray!]

Oh my God. I love both pictures. In the second one, I love the girl in the prom dress smoking the cig. Everyone looks like they're about to start throwing chairs. Fabulous!

Claudia, I got Aimee Mann quite a bit. And Wendy O'Williams a few times! LOL. Consider I also wore a pair of green catseye sunglasses and drove an orange 73 Karmin Ghia at the time.

Now I drive a white Subaru Outback. Booooooring....
