Hmmm....pant length ok?

Normally I’d cuff the pants shown in photos 3,4.
They’re supposed to be 7/8 length pants but they’re (almost?) full length on me.

What do you think of this length?

I think it looks ok for a fall look.
I don’t think I could bring myself to wear this length in the summer. (I’m on Team I-Will-Die-In-My-Cropped-Pants.)

I also included some summer outfits in photos 1,2.

I’m still coming to grips with whether I like that skirt or not. I’m wondering if it needs to be tighter at the bottom (more of a tube-skirt).

Smittie - I will leave perfect lengths to Angie, as she is always spot on with this. It is such a treat to have you post, you have such great style - how fab are your sandals in 1 & 2?

The skirt looks good to me, but it would be a bit more conventionally flattering tapered in a bit, as more of a figure hugging pencil. You most certainly have the figure for it too. Your long wavy hair is just beautiful.

I’m bad with pants length too, but I really am liking the ankle length on you in 3/4. It looks intentional with the taper. 1 and 2 are lovely. Love the sandals and I really like the turned up frayed hem styling.

Are those Lululemon ‘On The Fly’ pants (in 3/4)? Length looks good to me. I’m on team ‘Die-In-My-Crops’ too, and I’m on the hunt for the right booties (high, close shaft with low heel) so I can wear them through F/W.

I like the skirt as is. The tie waist is a nice detail.

RunCarla - They're the Lulu on-the-fly pants, yes, in some sort of fractional length (3/4th, or 7/8th - not sure). I am on the lookout for something that will work with crops too. I started to write something here, and it got long, so I think I'll post about it separately.

The pants in 3 and 4 look great on you as is. I think that is a good length, too. In my opinion, pants are too long if it covers your footwear, and your shoes are fully visible, so with me it's not a problem.

I like those shoes, too, BTW, with that outfit. And the jacket and top. The black matches your beautiful hair; the lighter blue provides contrast, yet complements the blue pants. The shoes, a neutral white, go wtih everything, and work well with that outfit.

That outfit is awesome.

The outfit in photograph #1 is quite lovely. Whether it needs to be a little tighter or not I will leave to others, but I think it looks fantastic on you the way it is. The sandals look great on you, as well.

Outfit #1 is an awesome summer look.

I will leave Angie to give the final verdict on the lengths...but to my eye, the pant in 3/4 works because of the taper. It looks as if it is intentionally ankle length (not cropped, not full length) -- which is a good length for tapering in pants on many of us. Especially with sneakers.

You look gorgeous in all photos! Beautiful hair! And look at those very cool sandals.

Is that the Boden paper bag waist skirt in #1? If so, it's much shorter on you than on me -- or did you have yours altered? It looks beautiful. If it's the skirt I think it is, I don't think tapering it further would be workable or wise unless you also lengthen the back vent for movement. But then, mine's longer, so maybe that's even more necessary in my case?

Outfit no 1 is really terrific on you, the skirt is beautiful as it is. The pants in no 3-4 are good, as I like ankle pants, but Angie is right address for that. So, all outfits are great.

Suz: Yes, this is 'our' skirt. I got mine altered; and yes, it is too narrow to narrow further. I think going forward I might try a tube skirt again.

Re the pants... I think I like them like this with no socks... but if you want to wear socks, they’d look odd probably.

Smittie, those pants could work with booties, too, if not socks.

Well, I hear you re skirts -- I tend to like a tapered tube on myself, too, for figure flattery -- as opposed to a straight pencil. And we have some similar body type modifiers. BUT, having said that, this skirt looks FAB on you!!

Also, did you try it with your Boden boots or a bootie/ more substantial shoe? And a more substantial top? I think it might read differently with different companions. That would change the proportional balance.

I don't think socks would look odd at all with those pants. My first choice would be white, though I could see something brighter like a red working, too, for the purpose of adding a little splash of color.

Those navy joggers look great! And I love the skirt; I think the sash at the waist is what does is for me. I actually thought it was a dress with a belted waist at first glance. I like it better than a tube skirt!

Yes, I do like that the skirt is woven.
I’ve been trying out my daughter’s jersey summer dress over leggings (she’s now my height) and I like the casual look of it for cold winter days.

Suz, I did try with my boden boots last year. I remember feeling too covered up and thinking this skirt would be summer-only. But that might’ve been because I tried it during puffer weather. A fall outfit with a jean jacket or leather jacket might feel different. Worth a try!
