Hinge leather jacket

I just returned a bunch of stuff and tried the Hinge jacket. I love the look but does the fit and collar work on my stubby neck?!?!

I like it. I'm no expert though. I think it will add texture and interest to any outfit.

That looks great on you! I can't believe how tailored it looks (especially the side view!) for an off the rack jacket made of leather no less.

Mo, I think the saddlebags help balance me out. I normally avoid these collars but this sits low. I may take it home and test it out...

I think it looks great and that side view is SO adorable!

Can't it qualify as a work jacket? Is it too heavy for indoor wear?

Rae, you are very right! Thanks for being my conscience! I returned a sweater and two skirts that were indulgences and this may fall in that category as well. I could wear it to work but not on a REAL work day.

Lovely jacket but as others have suggested if it doesn't fill a "need" and it's just a want I'd pass if your "want" list is a little big this year and focus on those items.

This is a medium so I'd say it runs a little small like all Hinge items tend to do. It has a very Allsaints vibe to it. It is very rare for me to find a leather jacket that I like that works for me - still considering it for that reason... Sigh. Seize the lucky find or take a deep breath and just say no?

My "needs" list is pretty much fulfilled for now with the exception of gear and black boots to replace my old ones.

Do you think you will regret not having this jacket 6 months from now? Do you have a black/dark leather jacket already? I definitely think getting your work stuff in line will make you feel better about your outfits by a dramatic amount, but I understand wanting to pounce on those items we fall in love with.

Aida, I'm pondering that very thing! I have also been trying to imagine the actual day-to-day occasions in which I might wear a given item, rather than buying for the possibility an opportunity or need might arise. It's all part of my struggle to reconcile my ACTUAL reality with what I WANT to be my reality.

Is it too heavy for indoor work days? In the winter I will wear leather jackets instead of blazers. Not enabling or anything, but . . .

if it is okay for indoor wear, then I can see it with a pencil skirt or trousers -- as the only funky item worn that day. . .

In other news, I opened the first picture and didn't see the mirror right away, and thought you'd gotten a super awesome edgy, textured stacked bob! Turns out it was just the way your hair was pulled back. I don't remember your hair "story" (past cuts, future plans, challenges, etc), but if you ever consider getting an edgier haircut I think it would look AMAZING!

I think it looks great on you, and I can see it working for work, with, for instance, a pair of tweed trousers and a simple tailored blouse.

I looked at it longingly, but alas there was only a small to be had at my Nordstom. And I have another black leather jacket. I guess it was a sign. :-/
