High waisted leggings/ skinnies....cheap

I'm needing some leggings and/or skinny pants added to my wardrobe but I'm having a few problems:
1st- I need "mom jeans". My tummy is definitely my problem area so I need something with a high waist and leggings are more flattering on me with a wide waistband.
2nd- I'm on a VERY limited budget so they must be cheap
3rd- I'm in Canada. So, I need somewhere that will ship or has Canadian stores.

I'm kicking myself for not getting the NYDJ straight ponte pants and getting them shipped to a friend in the states. Now they don't have my size. Well, they have 10, but I'm under the impression I should size up with these. They're a little more than I want to spend, but they sound like they are worth it.

So, any other suggestions? I have two pairs of black leggings right now. One pair is really thin and more like tights and the other pair is ponte but gives my muffin-top.

I wouldn't size up in the NYDJ ponte pants! Size down, if anything. They do stretch a bit.

Crystal, what's your definition of cheap? I am really really loving my Gap "jeggings"...I think Angie has them in the store as well. The rise goes almost to my bellybutton (I think I have a 7 or 8 inch rise) which really helps smooth my entire midsection- that's crucial for me when wearing skinnies. And Gap prices are getting cheaper all the time with their coupons and deals...

I'll second both these comments. I have NYDJ and I needed to size down. Also, the Gap jeggings (leans) are great. I tried the ones at Target which are cheap but the rise is pretty low.

I'd be willing to pay $50 for a good quality pair. The Gap ones sound promising, but I'm looking for something that at least goes to my belly button, preferably just over. Not easy to find.

Maybe I should just order the NYDJ in 10 then. The sizing on the 10 would fit me perfect in the hip, its the waist that's always too small on pants for me.

Ahhhhh!!!! I went to order the NYDJ in 10 and now they're sold out!!!! Just my luck. Guess I'll keep an eye on eBay

Crystal, have you tried shopping at Reitmans or Mark’s Work Wearhouse for jeans and pants? In the past I’ve bought some dress pants from Reitmans and found that the construction of their pants without zippers and buttons but a stretchy flat waistband are a good option for those with mummy tummy. Their prices are quite reasonable too. It sounds like you’d really like their Original Comfort Pants for Petites. They have a variety of styles, including leggings, so you might be able to find something you like.

Select pants and denim are 50% off at Mark’s until November 21. Their classic fit bootcut jeans in a medium wash are now $25. The tummy control jeans don’t appear to be on sale. I’ve never bought jeans from Mark’s so I don’t know how much they shrink or stretch.

For skinny jeans, I’ve had success with Joe Fresh “slim” jeans from the Superstore. I’m petite, and they come in a 29” length. I found that they don’t stretch out after wearing them, so you can buy them for the fit they are in the change room and that’s how they’ll be after many washes and wears. I don’t wash them too much or put them in the dryer, however, as per Angie’s recommendation about how to care for your jeans. The waist on them is just below my belly button, but for them to fit on my hips and thighs, it's a bit loose at my back but no muffin top!

Old Navy jeans are cheap and cheerful too. FYI: If you’re going to buy anything from Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic, make sure you do a search for the “Give & Get” sale that’s on until the 14th to print out a coupon for 30% off your purchase (in-store only).

I'm needing items I can wear under dresses, tunics and long tops that I can tuck in boots. As long as they are comfy and don't stretch out too bad, I don't care what they are. I have a hard time finding leggings that don't show the waistband under my tops, so something high and preferably with a wide band. Skinny pants, either jeans and/or ponte pants will need a high rise for me. So I'm having some problems.

I think Urbanoutfitters.com ships to Canada. Because they have some BDG High Rise Cigarette jeans (leans) that some here have and have raved about. Yublocka, shiny, and more I can't remember. . .

They have a number of denims, lengths, styles, so you'd want input from wearers to be sure you are going after a tried-n-true version of them.

Regular price is usually $59, but they often have some on sale or special promotion.
