HEWI: white boho dress that flatters

Hi all,
For about 1-2 years now I’ve been on the lookout for a voluminous white boho dress.... that flatters me. Difficult because:
1) white isn’t great on me
2) this type of dress tends to be very unstructured, sometimes taking away any semblance of shape/waist....

Yesterday I found this sweet dress at the mid season sales, and I think it is jfe, which is more than I can say for all the others I have tried. The blue and gold embroidery just takes the edge off the white which helps.

I decided I prefer the shoes in pic 4 for normal daywear, but will use the sandals from the first picture for when I wear this dress to the beach.

Thoughts?? Any feedback welcome, even naysaying :).

I like the way you’ve styled it with the hat and the denim jacket, too. I think it looks fine...not too voluminous. It looks like it has an empire waist? That helps give it some shape.

It's super cute on you. I think you can get away with more voluminous looks in the summer when there is more skin showing (your arms, shoulders, and ankles in this case).

Cute dress. Fab look (including the hat).

Would also look great with touches of blue, like:
● a necklace / earrings / bracelet
● a ribbon or scarf tied around your hat
● a shawl / a jacket / a shirt or blouse worn as jacket
● footwear

The cat: clever ideas you have. I was thinking in the pic without the hat it needs something extra for sure. Potentially hair down or half down might do the trick too.

Jussie this dress is beautiful on you. I think the blue and gold details help define the lines of the dress and hint of structure. The hat is a fab accent. I think a pair of earrings and a couple of bangle bracelets would be nice finishing touches. FWIW, I like your hair up!

Mainelady: thanks ! Bangles would be perfect. And so easy. I’ll do that. Maybe with something white accessories are even more important to stop it from washing me out quite so much.

Much better than JFE, it looks great and perfect to wear on a hot summer's day. This is definitely something that you will get lots of wear from and a great find. The blue and gold embroidery is very pretty.

Rachylou, Angie, thistle, Katerina, Cardiff girl, Christina F, Bijou: thanks for looking at it. I totally agree with all the suggestions- some boho hair, a few accessories, and preference for the second pair of shoes. Hmm it needs a few tweaks accessorie-wise but I do think it’s a cute dress.
It really would look good with some gladiator sandals.
It’s as comfortable as can be. Finally I found it!

This is a yes for sure. You got it on sale, it's perfect for trying this look out for a while, see how you feel in it.
I personally adore it with footwear in pic 1. Complete with the hat, it bares a little "kawaii" vibe that suit you well! Do you know the site Yesstyle? If you type the word Kawaii in their search bar you'll get lots of visuals. I have a hunch you would like it.
