Another jacket arrived yesterday, so here we go again. This one is back to the darker color, and I adore the quilting details on it. Sizing up isn't an option, but it zips comfortably. There's a wee bit of tightness at the elbows when I bend, but I suspect that will loosen up with a little wear (it's real leather, not faux). Thoughts?

I like this one, but the tight elbows would concern me. Have you tried it on with a sweater?

I love the quilting on this one. I think it fits nicely and has a nice shape on you.
I think this is the best one. It is not cognac but it is a really nice colour on you and can be paired with cognac boots or bag if you want.

I've also noticed in my bootie search that there is quite a lot of dark brown suede out there, if that makes a difference.

chewyspaghetti - I haven't tried it on with a sweater because, honestly, I wouldn't wear it with one. I only even own two thick sweaters, and they're for temps in the single digits. I have tried it over lightweight long sleeves.

smittie - It's defnitely not cognac, and, for once (!!), it wasn't sold as such. I like the color, though, and think it would work in my mostly-neutrals wardrobe regardless.

I really like it on you -- great rich color with your hair, and that back detail is nice.

Be really sure about the arms though. I had a Michael Kors black leather moto some years ago that had slightly tight arms, and they didn't really loosen up -- there was a stitched detail at the elbow which kept it from stretching. I see that this jacket also has stitching on the elbows. Can you wear this around the house with a thick layer underneath to gently stretch it a bit and then try it on with one of your regular layers again?

I love the colour on you -- it echoes the deep browns in your hair and will be easy to incorporate for that reason.

I love the back detail, too.

I am with Janet on the elbows -- wear it around the house a bit, move in it, see how it feels in the wearing. I have always been told that leather stretches and eases up, but it may need quite a lot of wear for that to happen. Then again, maybe it only needs wear against skin or a thin layer. In my climate I'm always layering over more substantial items that may absorb the heat from the body that would otherwise stretch it. I have found that shoes stretch but jackets, not always.

I like this one the best Jenn. The tightness at the elbows does worry me though. I have no experience with leather jackets stretching. Try the stretching technique suggested although if it is lined then that might not work. If you really love it you could remove the lining in the sleeves then walk around and stretch it. Of course you would have purchased the jacket for sure if you did this.
I love the colour and the waist detail. Very flattering.

I like it, but I would pass on the tightness.

If it's not perfect now, I wouldn't risk it becoming so.

I agree with Thistle. It's a great jacket, but if it doesn't fit perfectly and isn't comfortable now, it probably will never be. Better to return it and keep looking.

I love the style, quilting, color and overall fit of this jacket. The only thing that would give me pause would be the issue of tightness in the elbows. Before making your final decision, I would try wearing it around the house for a few days to see if it loosens up a bit.

I love the colour of this one the best of all that you have tried on. Hoping that the fit works. Boot makers can stretch shoes for you - do you think that one could stretch the elbow area?

It definitely hangs better than the other ones. The color is good, too. The advice to wear it a bit to see if the elbows bother you is excellent. Maybe they won't loosen up and this is as good as it gets. Can you live with that? You'll soon know.

I think this might be it! I've been wearing it around the house, and the tightness feels less constrictive and more like "good tightness," the type that will make a pair of jeans mold to your shape or new leather shoes conform to your foot.

I didn't realize when I ordered how close the style is to the burgundy faux-leather jacket I've worn a lot over the past couple of years (it also has quilting on the elbows and shoulders). That's a plus in my book, as the purchase was intended to be an upgrade.

It's a really nice jacket and great on you. I have similar colour hair and own a somewhat similar jacket. Mine is the same general cut without any detailing, and the leather is taupe-r in colour and not as rich. So overall not as nice a jacket, I would say... but nevertheless, the oldest item in my wardrobe which still sees occasional wear. For me it works as a classic, almost timeless, leather jacket whereas a black moto, for example, does not because it's not my style or best colour.

I definitely am all-in for this jacket. The colour of the last one really put me off so I never commented on that one, but this one is BEAUTIFUL. It looks as though it fits you well, and the colour really compliments you. I love the stitching detail.

YAY! I am so glad you found your jacket. I like the colour of this one on you best by far. Much more dramatic with your colouring than the pale jacket. And I agree that if the shape matches the burgundy one, that is a good thing. You know it will work for you. I wondered if the elbows might feel a little tight because of the ribbing at the elbows. I would be reasonably confident that would loosen up with time.
