Red scarf because it was like some crazy -27 in the morning
New Black leather skirt - it feels like butter and I love it. Thinking about slimming the a-line feel just a bit if that makes sense.

Same company now has a black leather pencil skirt on sale for less then $150 - trying to remind myself I'm taking a shopping hiatus.

It IS a very nice length and style--the kind of in-style lady-like leather skirt that seems very on-trend and a good way to wear leather. I like the contrast of the tweedy fabric top with the leather. I would also try something even boxier on top. Yes, you don't want too much volume over volume, but the skirt is streamlined through the hip, not gathered, so a high-hip, chunky sweater would work, I think. With 3.4 sleeves or scrunched, if it's not too cold.

Please don't slim the skirt; it would ruin the style which looks so great on you. A leather pencil is rather expected and ordinary, plus might cause you to split your wears with the skirt you have. [Am I being successful in helping your budget? ]

Fabulous on you. Worth every penny and I bet you will find it easier to wear and as versatile as the pencil version. I love it with the tweedy jacket. Do you have other ways you're going to wear it?

It's gorgeous on you! I like the whole outfit, too. If you go for the pencil skirt, too, you might try a different color, just for variety's sake. But black is hard to beat for versatility with your wardrobe, isn't it?

Suz - this purchase was a little out of my comfort zone so before I purchased I came up with about 9 different outfits.

Donna F - you are very helpful in helping my budget - I have such a soft spot of pencil skirts but I really don't need a 2nd leather skirt or another black pencil skirt - I already have three.

Beautiful! If you are still in the mind to slim the skirt, I would wear it a few more times the way it is, just to see if you're still of the same mind. It has a beautiful style and is flattering on you the way it is now. (I nearly shortened a Cavalli skirt with a mermaid hem. The seamstress stopped me - and I am glad she did, because she saved a detail that made the skirt unique)

LBD - words of great wisdom I will wear some more before I decide to slim or not to slim. I also have a wonderful tailor who will not tailor something if he things it will run the line or if he doesn't think it is work it.
