I am so late here but I just want to say: 1). What a fun and ambitious project, and 2). this was such a fun thread!! -- I loved seeing all the test versions! -- and 3). TEAL, followed by Aquamarine. I like the blue, too, but it won't work as well in your closet. Good luck!

I echo Suz - teal & aquamarine would work best for your wardrobe.

I've been burned many times by that sort of blue as a Deep Autumn - it's why jeans are such a tricky buy (they have to be exactly the right sort of dark enough wash in order to be flattering)

Okay, I just realized something, and I apologize that this is very late in the conversation...

I think I assumed everybody knew this, because I’ve mentioned it in dyeing conversations in the past. You can actually custom-blend colors, and they are pretty accurate. I’ll take a photo of a Theory blouse that I dyed a custom peachy-pink several years ago, that is still holding its color well. I set it with salt and white vinegar.

Thanks Mary Beth. I have tried some of those RIT custom blends. They are really helpful. I think the problem here is that I have a non-neutral background and have to factor in the effect of the dye on the print colours. So the swatches are the best way of testing the result. I may end up doing a blend. No more swatches left however!

Thanks again everyone for the input. I plan to get this done next week. Fingers crossed!

Looking forward to the next installment of Brooklyn’s Dyeing Adventures

Teal!!

You’re making us wait until next week?! Anticipation!

Wow, what a fun read! I loved seeing your samples and all the thoughts about colors. I'm late to contribute, but I like the aquamarine best, and it's partly because of the eggplant color it adds into the look, which I can envision you wearing so well. I agree with others who say you really can't go wrong with any of them, though.
