Help me style my new Anyi Lu boots?

My prize boots came yesterday and they are beauteous! Lovely sheen, lightweight and, well, beautiful. Of course they came with a storage bag and a nice note from the Anyi Lu team. Thank you Anyi Lu! The length is good, but my "generous" non-gamine like legs and feet filleverymoleculeofspace so I will be wearing trouser socks and there will be no tucking of pants.

It is difficult to see the sheen and buckle detail of the boots in the pics with me, but the individual shots of the boots are better.

I would really like to wear them so the boot is showcased, but maybe that isn't such a good idea given my large legs? You can see in pic 6 how snug they are to my ankles. Included are pics with a skirt and some black knit jeans. I've also ordered a green ponte knit jumper (pic 5) that I thought might be fun with my houndstooth blouse. It is also available in black.

I'd love to hear your suggestions as I want to do these lovely boots justice as best I can. Thank you!

What a great pair of boots! Agree with Ceit! Your legs are not large at all. The skirts look great with the boots. How about leggings with a tunic if jeans won't fit? Congrats on the win

Those are some fab boots! I love the metallic sheen--nice luster without being OTT! Look great with the skirt and under the pants. You could also try them with leggings and a tunic. I like the idea of a column of color to really let those boots shine. Congrats on winning those gorgeous boots. Enjoy them.

Gorgeous boots! I love the idea of trying them with leggings and a voluminous top, and some accessory (or perhaps flecks in the top) that pick up the metallic sheen. They would look pretty cool with a moto jacket, too.

Ceit, Kelly, Kathy and Suz - thanks for the suggestions. I'll try looking for some leggings, but they scare me because I am so lumpy and heavy. I suppose it all depends on the fit of the pants and the proportion of the tunic. Something more muted than the green shirt in the picture, but what do you think of that shirt's silhouette?

And the moto - I like that idea Suz! I'll have to look at H&M when I can get out of town.

pil, I think you could totally pull off the leggings look and it is incredibly comfortable. It's all about getting a tunic or sweater that is long enough. I think the silhouette of the green shirt is great with the pencil skirt but I would belt it to give you some waist definition. I love Suz's idea of a moto!

I got this tunic from Old Navy and the back is long enough to cover my bum. I'm planning on wearing it with skinnies.

Aw, they're so cute! Rita (modgrl) has pugs too. Here are my girls, Tippi (black) and Sophie (fawn) -- just a quick snap with my phone the other day. I love how they cuddle up together all the time.

Janet, your pups are adorable. I love a black pug! Kelly, a friend just got a new kitten after losing her cat a couple of years ago. She is hoping the kitten will be a cuddler - something the cat was not.

I have to bring this back on topic and start looking for leggings and tunic : )

Congratulations on winning those fabulous boots!
I think they look great on you with a skirt and tights. It's kind of a shame to cover them with pants, and not see the details of the boots.
They look like they fit well, and I don't see any reason for leg worries at all. ENjoy!

I tried my straight/skinny jeans with the boots and it is laughable because my legs are so "generous". I was able to zip them, barely, but they are too long with the boots so bunched up at the knees. Folding the pants at the hemline made for too much bulk and the boots wouldn't zip. Not the sleek look sported in the photos here.

I tucked my pants like that many a time to go outside as a youngster and felt like I should go get my winter coat on to wait at the bus stop for school : )

Those boots are gorgeous. You can totally pull off the look with tights. And perhaps some thing leggings (black or denim) if you want to trying tucking something? I like the jumper you ordered--can't wait to see it!

Oh, they are so fabulous. I am trying not to turn green with envy. It would be fun to see them with pale grey leggings and a tunic top that picks up the bronze metallic colour. They look great the way you've got them here, don't get me wrong, but it seems to me that a pale colour would really make the colour of the boots sizzle.

You already know that I think these boots are gorgeous:-) And they look wonderful on you, Pil. I love them with the skirt (If you have a flowy, non-pencil skirt, that could be fun too) and really like the idea of pairing them with leggings (or jeggings) and a longer-length tunic too. That green ponte knit dress is beautiful and will look fab with your houndstooth blouse, definitely try your new boots with that as well.

I'm also loving the idea of trying them with jeans or even a pair of trousers tucked in (perhaps the leather will still stretch a little too). Right now I really like the not so sleeked tucked in look, where the pants are bunching (perhaps not the right word) a bit just above the top of the boots. I'll try to find a picture.

P.S. I can't stand all the pug cuteness, look at these little darlings!!

Inge, your suggestion to roll the jeans may be just the ticket! I'll also put a pic of that up as soon as I can to get opinions. Not only are my legs thick, they are also on the short side so I'm afraid the light cuff from rolling may not be very complimentary. I liked Ciet's look in the thread you linked to, but I am neither young or thin like her.

I am SO self conscious I'm afraid I may not be brave enough to wear leggings or rolled jeans out of the house. Were I to be venturing out into a world of YLFers it wouldn't be such an issue.
