Everything is finally here and I would love your opinions. I like the fabrication and fit of all of the tees but do you think one works better than the other with the skirt? The v-neck is BR, the boatneck is Madewell and the white tee is Express.

I'm also a little unsure about the shoes (second set of photos.) I want to keep the look casual but polished. (Something that I could wear in lieu of bermudas.) My default black casual sandal was eaten by the dog so I thought I'd try my peep toes but they look a little heavy to my eye. I usually only wear these with BF jeans. I ordered the Birk-a-likes as a replacement for my Naots but am wondering if I should have ordered silver or white instead. Appreciate any feedback you have time to give.

I really like the v-neck and the white tee with the skirt a little more than the Madewell one. The birk-a-likes look good as your hair bookends them nicely, but metallic would be fun too. I don't mind the peep toes - I wonder where you got those and if they are comfortable? (if you don't mind sharing)

red t shirt #2 the Madwell, and love the white one. The Birk a likes look better than the ankle straps with that skirt,IMO. great outfits,and you look fab!

Thanks, Tex! Usually that boatneck/dolman style works well for me so I thought it was going to be a slam dunk. Not sure if it's just with the skirt or if the neckline is just a wee bit too high. The peep toes are Franco Sarto. They are super comfy. (I added the link for you.) My foot is pretty average--maybe the wider side of normal and these are TTS for me.

@Always trying: Thanks! Looks like we have a split vote on the Madewell. Glad the Birk-a-likes get a thumbs up!

ETA: The Franco Sarto wedges were discounted in store. I think they were less than $20.

Love the look. Red v neck and white tee are better to my eye. The madewell looks too body. Love the black Birks . I do find black casual sandals very useful for linking with black tees and pants etc.

I like the red tee with the v neck and the white one best. I do think the neckline on the other one might be too high... I liked the idea of the black birk look alikes and I like them even more seeing them for real.

I had to go back and look again because I didn't realize you had on 2 different red/orange T's - I loved them both. On closer inspection I'd chose the second one, to wear with the skirt. I like the back view better and the lines. However you look fabulous in both tshirts. And the white is great too. I LOVE those wedges with the skirt!!! Wow! I think the birk-look is good too but personally I'm loving the wedges with this. Black Birk-a-likes are great, but wondering how awesome silver would be.....? Just to change it up?

I am of NO help at all, because I think it all looks splendid on you! I like the V-neck, but also love how the other red one hangs and I think you can wear a boatneck without a problem. The white t-hirt is just cut so perfectly to go with that skirt. Love both shoes on you; I think they could fulfill different roles with the birks being more casual than the other ones.

Hi Kelly! That skirt is going to be a workhorse...I like it best with the white t-the detail at the hem just seems to work fabulously with the skirt! I like both red shirts, too, with a slight preference for the boat neck just because it looks a little different, but I know higher necklines can be tricky for us IT's!

Love both shoes, the Birks will be fun and really look great with this skirt! Score:)

Thanks, Fabbers! Sounds like the Birk-a-likes are getting a thumbs up. I still might search out a silver pair since I like to use my silver RM satchel during the summer (except that it’s so heavy.) I’d be in matchy-matchy heaven then Will have to think about it.

@Carole: Hi Carole! Thanks. I hardly wore the skirt at all last summer. I had such a hard time making it look casual enough for every day. I think these t-shirts are going to make all of the difference this summer!

I like the v-neck tee and the white tee best on you with this skirt. And I really like both shoes. I think the black Birkalikes are just fine. They work partly because of your hair and also because they echo the stripe in the skirt. The Birks have a slightly more casual feel, for creating a shorts-alternative outfit.

The red is a great color for you but the v neck is a little boring and the boat neck with that skirt is too covered up.
But I love the white top on you with either pair of shoes!

Love the white. And those high vamp shoes are great! I like the v-neck from the back and the boat neck from the front. The color is great and I think both shirts work.

I like the first red tee (v-neck) and the white tee with this skirt; the Madewell tee, with the crew neck, boxy cut, long skirt, heavy shoes, it's all a bit much on you. That tee might work with shorts, though the neckline might still be a bit high. Still worth a try. The booties look great in the second outfit (with the white tee), a little heavy in the first as you said though still JFE for sure. The black birkies work all around but I'd prefer the silver for a lighter touch. Of course if these are to replace your black sandals, then black it is

I like the white tee best. The v-neck the least... it seems too narrow when it should be oversized. I really like the black birk-a-likes. I find the other sandals too formal maybe.

I like the V-neck tee better on you - the second shirt's higher neckline isn't as flattering and it is more boxy (although perhaps it is different when you move). I love the white tee.

Gosh Kelly, I'm not sure I'm going to be any help here at all. I like all of it on you, for different reasons. One of them being that I can totally twin you! That white tee is awesome, love the detail of the hem. You have to keep that one. And I think the Birkalikes are great here, but even if you decide you prefer the peep toes, you'll get a ton of wear from the sandals.

If by any chance you decide NOT to keep the BR linen tee, and if by any chance it's a medium, can you let me know before you return it? I'm kicking myself big time for not getting that one - wore my black one after the red sold out, had no idea how much I'd like it :(.

Hello pretty Kelly! I love the red V-neck BR and the white tee, both excellent choices. Your peep-toe sandals look wonderful to me and not too heavy at all, because your toes are showing. Actually, I prefer them to the Birks, which I know some prefer, so it's all in what pleases you.

I haven't read through the other responses yet. I like the BR tee and the white tee best. I think the Madewell tee makes your shoulders look very broad. The black sandals look nice, but how about trying silver to lighten things up a bit?

To like the V neck best in the first group and love that shade of red on you. I also like the white tee with what looks like built-in knotting. The Birkies-type sandals don't look heavy. Showing lots of foot lightens the look.

I like the red tee with the V the best (great color on you) and the white tee. The birkies look great but I think you would enjoy white-silver sandals for the warmer weather. Love the skirt. Is that a petite size?I have the VC black tube skirt and thinking of getting the striped.

I really like the V neck and the white shirt. I think that the Madewell shirt looks too boxy from the rear view. Both sandals look great and the skirt is wonderful

Thank you for all of your replies. They are very helpful! I'm going to play around with the Madewell with some other bottoms and see if I can make it work but I will definitely keep the BR and the Express tops to wear with my VC skirts. I'm likely to keep the Birkalikes and will also try the skirts with my silver strappy flat sandals.
@Firecracker: Thanks. That’s what I thought about the Birkalikes--a more casual vibe for every day. I think they play down the slightly “dressy” feel of the skirt.

@Aida: Thank you. I think you and Isabel are on to something with the “heavier, boxy look” of the Madewell. (It still kind of surprises me that it doesn’t work better but I do think it is the neckline.) I’m going to try it with some other bottoms because I do like it--just not as flattering as the V neck. Wish I could find the silver Birkies in stock somewhere. All I can find are narrow sizes. Oh well!

@Elizabeth: Lol. Thanks! The Express top was a gamble but I’m glad I tried it. I was ordered a bunch of dresses for DDs to try so I through that in the order. TTS or a little on the big size--it’s medium. I’ll keep an eye out for the red BR next time I go. (I’m going to be keeping this one.)
@Vicki: Thank you. Glad the peep toes get a thumbs up. I thought they were more casual when I bought them because they are a matte leather but they do “feel” more dressed up in this outfit. Less so with the BF jeans.

@Karie: Lol! Thanks. I think camera angle might have something to do with the broadness. I think the Madewell looks better in motion but there is no hiding my shoulders! I’m going to keep an eye out for silver sandals too.

@Reneeb: Thank you! Great to hear from you. The striped VC skirt is a regular. I like the midi length so never bothered with trying a petite.
@Summer: Thanks. This is the first and hopefully last shoe casualty. I’m usually very careful about leaving leather “snacks” laying about. I learned my lesson--just wish it was a cheap pair of sandals and not my Naots. And she only has a taste for leather--my kids leave their Vans laying about and she could not be less interested.

This white & blue stripes skirt with white top really works fabulously. It's a very versatile combination. I can imagine it going casual with flats or low sandals or rocking with peep toe pumps or wedges
I also think the white looks better because since it is more fitted on the hips it has a better "balance" than the red one, but this red shade looks really great on you. Is it possible to use the red t-shirt tucked in or with a knot (like in the white one)?

About your new shoes, I don't think they are heavy (they are beautiful). I think a nude or metallic shoe or with an open instep would look better with this skirt length (it would elongate your legs), but I totally would try this black ones with something hemmed a little above (exactly on your knees or a little shorter than that).
