Help a newbie out - how does collecting work?

Hello, please help a newbie out! I have been looking to find a description or post on how to get started with collecting and can't find it anywhere, including in tech support.

- to collect items from stores, it looks like I need à bookmarklet - where can I find it and how do I download/install it? I am on mobile (Android).
(Edited to add - it is fairly intuitive how to collecf from YLF members finds, but I would like to learn how to be able to collect from stores).

- are finds and collections significantly easier on desktop vs mobile?

- is it possible to download our own finds? And how do we go about it?

I love the forum and discussions here in and of themselves but it also looks like find and collections can be a very interesting feature, may be - if I can figure out how to use it...

You can't collect new Finds from a mobile phone, unfortunately. There is an applet for the computer, which I'll use for shops I know are supported.

You can create your own Finds by taking or saving a pic of the item- which can be done on the phone.

I use my phone nearly all the time. It's easy enough to create collections from the phone one the Finds are in there.

Aha I can commiserate - this is (partially) the reason why I have not yet created Finds for my actual wardrobe (despite banging on about doing it for years now, oops) lol...

One of these days, ylf will have to catch up to the way people live these days. But the tech side is done by Angie’s husband as a side project/hobby kind of thing, so we can’t hold our breath for that.

Hi GardenFairy and welcome!

One thing you can easily do on your phone is create a 'custom find' - I do this often! Just save the image or screenshot the item and use the 'custom find' feature. You can always create a linked Find at a future point on your computer

Hope that helps; I love Finds; it's the only tracking tool I've ever managed to use consistently (and free to boot!)
