Hello! And a couple of WIWs - YouLookFab Forum

Hello all!
It’s been a crazy up and down summer and I haven’t been on the forum much - or dressing up, truthfully. Though as Angie said, when I get back to the office, I think I will be ready to put on real clothes again just for a change of pace.
In fact, I think I will be more adventurous and cared less about conventional flattery and what people think - COVID has reminded me that life is short and I should do what I enjoy, now.

Here are a couple of outfits I wore lately - the sari for a socially distanced wedding and the blazer outfit to my dad’s 80th birthday. Everything (including the sari) thrifted except the blazer (Hugo boss.) I like the blazer outfit because these are the colors I am gravitating to lately, fitting my Autumn on the Beach colour palette.

Thoughts? Good or bad, honesty welcome.

You are gorgeous rockin it old school in the sari. I really like the color combo of the blazer & pants—similar to a combo popular here at the beginning of the year, but a bluer blue. The necklaces are a nice touch, too. The photobomber coming out for a hug is adorable.

Oops . The minute I hit send , I had a pang of worry I’ve said something marginalizing and arrogant in the way only white people can manage . And As “‘they say” if you know enough to be worried about what you said , you probably need to be .

I love the sari too and Angie and Lisa, you are both right - if I lived somewhere hot and was a lady of leisure, I would probably wear saris every day! I thrifted a whole bunch from an estate sale before the pandemic and I can’t wait to be able to wear them again - they are my fantasy self

Glad you like the colour in the other outfit too ...I’m going to experiment a bit and see how far I can go with this palette!

Honestly thank you all for such thoughtful and kind comments (and Lisa - you didn’t offend at all!) it certainly feels good to come back to this safe space

Roxanna, your post COVID challenge: make your fantasy self SIMPAT style, although saris in Canadian winters are tricky
