Aww, thank you ladies! I feel like I just received a bonus extra day of birthday celebration.
My birthday was on Friday and I went to work like a Good Little Grownup With Responsibilities. I managed to leave a little early and get my eyebrows done so I could be well groomed for the festivities. My husband and I went to an improv show but it was otherwise a quiet evening.
I extended the birthday celebrations into Saturday by having the birthday party be that evening. No photos (camera is AWOL) but I wore the blue/green Desigual dress from this post with my wide black double belt and the shoes in my profile pic. Angie,while I am grateful for the honour, you may not want to crown me Queen Corset until I actually manage to wear it I was planning on wearing the corset for the party but it was just too hot to be comfortable.
Thank you all for bearing with me and supporting me as I slooooowly figure out my style on this forum. Clothing and style is just not something I'm innately good at (a lot of you seem to be remarkably quick studies) but thanks to your generous help, I always feel confident that I'm put together. If there's an impromptu social event or I run into an acquaintance on the street I never ever need to be embarassed by my appearance.
Re: birthday loot, I decided that last month's Fluevog day shoe haul and the black/white purse would be my birthday presents to myself. My 5 year old laptop died last week (which is why I haven't been around much recently) so I can consider its shiny new replacement (hopefully arriving soon) to be an additional birthday present as well. I think I've been sufficiently good to myself this year
