Happy birthday Shannon!

You are a gem, dear lady, it’s as simple as that, and YLF wouldn’t be the same without you. You are a ray of sunshine, Iightening and brightening our mornings with your radiant smile and that cheeky (and kind) twinkle in your eyes. For me, your big smile is as much part of your sky-high style quotient as your marvelous outfits. You are as genuine as they come, Shannon, big-hearted and open-minded, bubbly and respectful, wise and thoughtful, always eager to share and help, an all-round good sport, and truly beautiful inside and out.

Your positive energy and upbeat attitude are contagious, as are your warmth and sense of humour that shine through in everything you write.
Life has thrown you some serious curveballs these last few years, and I enormously admire your resilicience and the way you have approached very tough issues, each day again, with courage, determination, love and compassion for everyone involved.

Then there’s your amazing style, of course. It’s been a treat seeing your style evolve over the last four years, and great fun to see how you never stand still, but -- as Angie would say -- keep those fashion feet moving. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your “search for simplicity” posts this year. They were great food for thought and an inspiration for many of us. You have really found your new fashion groove with your pared down wardrobe, and do a stellar job each day of making new pieces (acquired with great thought) work brilliantly with old favourites. Your fab, shorter again ‘do has put an extra spring in your step, which is a delight to see. And that spunky purple streak is such a marvelous touch, adding even more “Shannon pizzazz” into the mix.

You are on Team Wear the Heck Out of Your Clothes, Team I’m The Boss of My Closet, Team Always Perfect Lipstick Colours, and Team Resourceful Shoppers (I always love reading about your eBay finds and the way you have built rapport with your favourite eBay sellers). You have such a knack for finding those pieces that suit your style preferences and lifestyle to a tee, and for putting together outfits that strike that perfect balance between comfort and WOW-factor. I can’t wait to see where you are going with the next step of your style journey, Shannon, and how you’ll be incorporating your Spring style goals into your - always fab - outfits.

I’ve no doubt that your sweet boys will be spoiling you extra today, and I hope your special day, and the year ahead, will be filled with laughter, happiness, friendship and love.
