Thanks everyone for the kind words and support. It sure does cheer me up. Now if it would only rain!
Regarding the bushfires, I am not in harm’s way (except for exposure to smoke). But it is causing a lot of anxiety here. And of course everyone is talking about the big picture issue - climate change. I hope when this is over we also start talking about what we can do in the short to medium term to be better prepared for this type of disaster. Unfortunately it could become the new normal.
Cee, I hope you are out of harm’s way. All the best to you too.
Barbara Diane, thanks. I’m trying to stay indoors as much as possible.
Sally, I’m thinking a lot about carbon footprint too, and I’m making some changes this year. I was already on that road after having a shopping pause last year. But it does make me more determined than ever to be a mindful consumer.
Janet, that tie dye skirt makes me think of you. Also the dark green floral. I’ve always thought we could swap clothes. Start our own recycling program!
Angie, I buy a lot of my wardrobe from Veronika Maine, a local retailer. They are a little more expensive than the average high street store but they are also more original (IMO) and ethically accredited. Their sister company is Cue, a brand that the lovely Bijou is very fond of (and I am too but it tends not to work on my body shape as well as VM). The check skirt is from ASOS. I love asymmetrical midis and hope they never ever go out of fashion
ST, you really need to move south
JAileen, Ms B does not enjoy the heat (like her mum). She would much rather be a reindeer. Dashing through the snow...
