Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and festive New Year's Eve and a wonderful start to 2010. I also wanted to thank you all for the tremendously positive impact you've all had on my life in 2009. This was a year that, to understate the matter, won't ever make my personal highlight reel. It was a tense and difficult one that nonetheless brought me two fabulous gifts: Reva and YLF. You ladies have provided me not only with style guideance, but confidence boosts, moral support, friendship and laughter. I really don't know how to thank you all enough!

So get out there and have whatever constitutes your idea of the perfect New Year's Eve!! And don't forget to report back on your outfits.

I am *so* ready to get this year over with. My perfect NYE is to be asleep by 10, so flannel jammies are the outfit of choice LOL

I am off out to dinner and then drinks at a Quentin Tarantino themed evening. It is bitterly cold, so I am really not looking forward to going out!

Happy New Year to everyone! We are only 4 hours away from 2010! I always find new year quite a sad time. I don't really know why, I guess it's the thought of another year being over and leaving things behind. We have decided to have a quiet one and opted to stay home with the baby. She is in bed now but we plan on getting her up and heading out in the car to watch some of the fireworks.
I hope that the new year brings everyone health and happiness! xxxx

Michelle, I echo your sentiments 100%. Finding YLF has been one of the year's highlights for me as well, and I'm quite glad I met you too.

I have no idea what to wear tonight, but my cousin warned me it has to be sparkly. Haha...

2009 was a hard year for many. But the economy is looking up and my hope is that 2010 ( twenty-ten is how I’m referring to the New Year) will be a better year for us all.

We’re off to a huge Spanish Tapas meal tonight – just Greg and I. We’ll ring in the New Year back home with our girls and watch the fireworks from our bedroom window. I’m going to wear my shiny black batwing blouse with pearls. I’m looking forward to it!

I find New Year's Eve/Day depressing, so I'm going to try to be in bed early and treat it like any other day (except that most days I am NOT in bed early).

At the risk of being a sourpuss and total pessimist, I can't subscribe success and happiness to an arbitrary date. 2009 was a terrible year for me, but I don't expect it to come to an end just because the calendar changes. I'm braced for more rough times and see no reason for improvement.

Sooo, after all that negativity, I have to say YLF is probably what kept me sane this year. In past years it was just an online novelty, but now it has come to mean much more to me. I couldn't do without it (that might be a good or a bad thing, but I prefer to think it's good)!

As usual we have no plans, so my night's going to be similar to chewyspaghetti's, I think. We usually do fancy snax from Whole Foods or someplace and some wine, maybe a movie. woo hoo.

I'd be perfectly happy staying home tonight, as I've had a head cold for 2 weeks, but we are going to make appearances at 2 different gatherings. Both should be fairly low key so I don't plan on dressing up. I'll have to see what's clean (we just got back into town last night)

Happy New Year everyone!! I wish a safe evening of merriment to all who are atttending parties. To those staying home and turning in early, I wish sweet dreams and a brighter tomorrow.

Tonight we are staying home and letting the kids stay up and ring in the New Year for the first time. I don't think my 11 and 9 yr old will have problems staying awake, but it'll be interesting to see if the 6 yr old will make it. We are going to have a game night with lots of finger foods and hopefully spend the last 15 minutes of 2009 in family prayer. Then off to bed with the hopes that I won't have 3 cranky kids to deal with in the morning! LOL!

Again, Happy 2010 to you all and I feel fortunate to have this forum to share my style journey with!

We're off to a little dinner party at a friend's house, where osso buco and homemade pasta are on the menu. I am bringing the makings for kir royales and last night I made Martha Stewart's triple chocolate peppermint trifle (I had to use a glass salad bowl as I had no trifle bowl, Martha would be sooooo upset!!). Later this weekend I'll work on my many resolutions!

Michelle, Happy New Year to you and everyone else on the YLF forum. 2009 was definitely a rough year - 8 months of unemployment & uncertainty, lots of financial strain, health problems etc but there is so much to be thankful for too. Gotta look at the glass half full! Whenever I find myself wallowing in self-pity, I always think, "well, it could be worse." I have high hopes for 2010!

One year we had my girlfriend and her husband over and the four of us dressed to the nine's... pulled out all the stops, including the men in black tie. Just because ... we could! It was a great New Years. This year, we're going a bit more low-key than that, but I'll still wear something fun.

I am really not all that into going out on NYE anymore (we call it "amateur night" around here, LOL). But it's fun to stay home and still dress up.

Happy New Year hugs to everyone! I'm thankful for this place and all of you.
It is cold and will be bitter tonight so I'm thankful to Angie's layering for winter blog but scrapping the beaded skirt and silk sweater I'd planned to wear in favor of layers under black AT wool pants and cream cashmere sweater under a false plain AT blazer and sparkly snowflake dangle earrings. I'll add a scarf..probably red or cream and wear black lowheeled boots with wool socks over tights. Heres to Twenty-ten!
BTW, between entertaining house guests and a computer that's become slow as chilled molasses, it's been difficult to post. Just to explain my absence.

We are going out for the first time in years. Our 15 yr. old son was invited to a party and all the parents were invited, also. We are all great friends so it should be a wonderful night. My son says he plans on kissing all the girls at midnight. You can be sure that Mom will be keeping close tabs on him!

I will be wearing my black jeans and the snow leopard cardigan with the chiffon and crystal trimmed neckline.

Happy New Year to you all! YLF has enriched and changed my life this year, more than I can ever express. You are a wonderful group of women that I am honored to know.

I am going out to dinner with Shopping Friend and Hubby, then we are coming back here for martinis and Wii bowling. I need a nice outfit for dinner and then some of my awesome loungewear for later. Off to figure out what to wear!
