Handmade summer scarf, new specs, newly curled hair

I got my hair permed and trimmed, and picked up me new specs! It might be my last perm for a while. I mostly wanted an easy to care for style that obsfucted the awkwardness of growing out my pixie.

This scarf is mohair and silk. It has been my project to work on during meetings that I am just listening in on. Its taken me since end of Feb to finish it! I tried to use up a leftover ball from a shawl I made for my mom, but still have a small amount left. It's about 6 feet long and it was getting too long! I just LOVE the look of the yarn and the lacey pattern of the scarf.

You'll have to excuse the leggings. I intended to do yoga today but never got around to it.

ETA, better pics specifically of my hair and glasses. I also added my hair inspo photo. I'm thinking about maaaaybe cutting bangs next haircut. Not sure...

What a beautiful scarf. Is it cold where you live? I ordered some yarn in late April, thinking it would be good for the quarantine. Well, I still haven’t received it. Apparently it’s been shipped from the Philippines.

Geeky hair but looks so soft and feminine with the new glasses and scarf! Is it really that low maintenance to have a perm? (When I did have perms-ages ago-I always have had to put my (long) hair on rolls and slept with...:-)).

Thanks all, I do love the 70's references. I grew up loathing 70's style. How things do turn around, eh?

It's extremely low maintenance at this length. I literally wash and condition it, pat the water out, run product through it and let it air dry. Once in a while I run a comb through it to get loose hairs out (like once a week).

JAileen, I ordered some from Denmark and it took over 8 weeks to arrive...so I feel ya on that!

Here in Seattle we have had a few streaks of nice days but also lots of rainy cool days, so a breezy scarf will be worn a lot, even at home. Perfect for taking outside with me when there is a bit of a cool breezy.

The scarf is stunning, so ethereal and lovely on you. The new specs and hair are adorable, and I love your inspiration pic. Your perm reminds me of when I got a perm to grow out a short haircut; I felt it did help with the process. And when the perm grew out and my hair continued to curl. . . that's when I realized I had some natural curl in my hair! (Not as much as the perm had given me.)
