Handful of WIW's, Casual Spring Outfits

I have been trying to keep up with daily WIW photos even if I feel like I dont have time to post them (life has been busy as of late!) I am trying to continue learning what makes me feel the best and document what I am actually wearing to become a smarter fashion consumer. SYC continues until August and I hope by then I really have myself sorted.

My summer (sleeveless) dresses with toppers have been featuring prominantly and I am excited about wearing them even though they are all a few seasons old now.

I am excited about how the skirt in 3-4 which I was concerned was too sweet for the style I am preferring lately worked when balanced with the jacket. I am not sold the handbag was right...

I dont think the scarf worked in #8.

Would love to hear your favorites and what you think works and doesnt work! Much thanks in advance

Oooh, I really love #8. But I have to shout out to #1, #2, and #7. You have the cutest sandals.

Ha! I thought 1-2 was either super fab (my thought wearing it...) or super frumpy... glad for the fab vote

Although, that isnt to say that if other YLFers see it as frumpy they shouldnt go ahead and say so (nicely please) ....

My faves are 7 and 8! You look great in red, and I agree with Rachy about your sandal collection. Pretty and practical.

I quite like the bag in 3/4. What was bothering you about it?

Thanks Suz! I think the bag in 3-4 felt a little too lady like for the moto... esp. since the skirt was such a delicate floral. But I liked the color to tie in the shoes.

I'm loving, 3, 7 and 8. To my eye, the proportions and color combinations in these outfits are great.

3&4 are my favourite look losely followed by 5 & 7. I like1&2 but i think the jacket look better in profile - i lie the pattern not sure about the boxy shape.. I think you are right about the scarf in 8. Loving the denim & leather jackets.

Great casual outfits! I really like 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8. I actually love everything about 1. The print of the jacket, the sandals and bag all work seamlessly. I think the scarf just needs adjusting in 8. I'm unsure about 3/4 only because the leather jacket looks seasonally confused with the dress. My eye has not adjusted to this juxtaposition but it seems on trend in terms of "irregular pairing" that Angie was talking about. I'm curious how others read this as well. I'm probably the odd man out. Otherwise, super duper casual outfits!

Kiwichic, I appreciate the thoughts on the jacket in #1 and #2, it moves quite a lot when worn unbuttoned and I always find that hard to capture on the pic. Jackets (of all fabrications!) seems to have been my "collection" item of the past 6 mo it seems so I am having fun making outfits with them

Kellygirl, I see what you mean about possible season confusion with 3-4. No worries about being the odd man out (I am ALL the time!). Thanks for speaking up on what you see I think I will try a different scarf with 8 next time that has a more drapey quality.

Suz and Rachy... I have to giggle about the sandal collection. I only have 4 nongear pairs.... and you see 3 of them here!

I love #5 & #7 - because the longer top with a shorter jacket is a look I'm really loving at the moment & you've done it really well. I think #2 looks fab on you too (this is coming from a non-dress person). I think you look good in the others but they didn't grab me in the way the above ones do:)

You are looking fantastic, Sarah, and you stylings are both sophisticated and practical for your lifestyle. One of your great strengths is a killer eye for the best in sandals, and you've learned how to make jackets do their magic to best effect.

I love the first look; appreciate the way you've updated the aline skirt in 3/4, enjoy the tonal palette in #5, the color and proportions in 6,7, and 8.

I agree that you don't need the scarf in 8, although the photo could be misleading, since white is magnified onscreen. I like the bag in #3 (color is a great choice. Perhaps it is a tad small for the style and the outfit? I only add that, because sometimes I'm trying to figure out why I'm not completely pleased with something.

I appreciate your detailed response I tried taking the scarf off in #8 (so I dont think the photos is misleading) but my neck got cold.... so I put it back, luckily I think we are just about past those cooler days now. My legs never seem to get coled even if it is near freezing.... strange? I do think youve hit on the bag size in #3. I have thought several times it feels a hair small, not that my things fill it, mind you, but for the tote style like this i think it needs a bit more size. Or maybe I just need to snap some rivets and a crossbody strap on it since they seem to look good a bit smaller!
