I, too, am thinking of cutting mine. It's really not a question of "if" but of "when." I ALWAYS revert to short. But I'm hesitating now. This is the longest it has been for a decade, and actually the nicest "longish" (really mid-length) style I think I've ever had. It seems to drag me down less than the others because of some clever layering.
Una, like you I'm contemplating a bob. The last time I had a bob it was NOT a success because it was too straight across; I have a squarish jaw and I thought it made me look like Frankenstein's monster. But I now wonder if with some layers and angling it might work well and give me back the "edge" and modernity I feel that my softer, wavier hair detracts from.
I tend to revert so often to very classic preppy clothing, maybe especially now as I'm rebuilding a closet from scratch and need some basics. With my short pixie I feel that I still had a little style quotient; with the longer hair I feel I'm missing something quirky that is "me."
But I still worry that the bob wouldn't suit me or would be hard for me to manage. One issue is that my hairline in the back is rather low, so angling it in the right way (without that choppy appearance in back) might be difficult.
Below one version of my old pixie from about 3 years ago. I guess I can always revert to that.
