Green Jacket - more pics

Are you sick of this jacket yet? I decided after my previous K/R thread on this jacket (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....een-blazer) to try another couple of options for styling.These aren't perfect by any means but give some idea as to other ways to wear the jacket.

It was suggested trying it open to actually play up the boxiness - that's the option in pic #1 and #2 (just popped it over today's outfit).

Other suggested belting it - so I popped it over my floral dress and added a belt (pics #3 and #4). Now this belt is not ideal for this jacket, that's for sure - but again, it gives an idea.

What do you think?

LOVE 1 and 2! Not sure about that particular black belt but I think belting the jacket is an option worth pursung further!

I think it's a keeper! You've got some good options here - I really liked it over the black dress and I think it's great over this flowered skirt too. You might try a narrower belt if you have one. Looks so cute with the shoes!

I like the way you have it styled here. I would still keep an eye open for the perfect one, but for $10 you can have some fun with this one. Interesting idea to belt it. I would not have though of that.

My son is working on persistence - he needs lessons from you! I think it works though as I said, I'm not in love with waffled items. You certainly scored in terms of color, and at the price, it is worth it to play around till the perfect item comes along...

MaryK - totally agree that this is not the right belt but it gives an idea of how it would look.

Rita - will definitely keep my eye open for the perfect one (see point for Una below re: persistence)

Una - oh yeah...I'm like a dog with a bone! Just ask my hubby! (lol) And I totally understand your dislike of waffled items - I think many people have a poisoned eye for that type of fabric.

I think the jacket looks good both open and belted. I agree with others that maybe a thinner belt would look better. I love, love love those green shoes!!

Shannon I am still loving this jacket on you It looks good belted but my prefence is definitely open or just done up as in your previous post.

I think it works pretty well open with scrunched sleeves and popped collar. I have suggested the belt but this black one is to harsh here. Try it with a lower contrast belt, it still may work!

I told you before that I LOVE this jacket! Yes it needs either nipping at the waist to show your curves or a belt......just not THAT belt!

I'm liking it both ways! Especially over the pants --- delightful 70s vibe (remember the 'safari suit' jacket?)

First of all, have we seen that fabulous floral skirt? I'm in LOVE! Incredible on you!
For the jacket, I like it open very much. I'm not sure if I like that type of collar popped. I like the lines of the jacket with it belted--maybe a lower contrast (or even a green) belt?

I really like it worn open with the sleeves scrunched. I also like it paired with the floral dress (but worn open, without the belt). Don't know about pairing it with black in general (as in 1-2)--somehow it seems too stark or something, like the jacket wants to be with white, or other springy colors, or denim, or light gray, but maybe the pics aren't capturing the color of the jacket properly?

Jacket lessons learned:
1. Good open with sleeves scrunched (popped collar optional)
2. Not bad belted but with lower contrast belt (please note this belt was only used for "testing" and would not be used IRL)
3. Still look at having sides nipped in by Wonder Woman (a.k.a. seamstress)

Claire - my floral "skirt" is actually my floral dress.

Jonesy - the pants are actually espresso brown and I wouldn't pair them with the jacket. It's just what I wore to work today and then got home and popped the jacket over top to see how it looked open. I would definitely pair it with more spring like colours.

I have been breaking myself of my boxy jacket habit (on myself) but I like the variety this one gives you. Fun color, fun fabric (I have nothing against the waffle!) and retro vibe.
I like the sleeves scrunched. You might try layering your blue BB blouse under it and then folding up and scrunching like Angie does? That would break the line of sleeve/coat that was bothering some people?
I liked this with jeans - could be great for casual Fridays!
