Hi Rae --

I think the cut of the dress looks beautiful on you.

I do think the color may be a bit off with your skintone -- as you said, YOU'RE "tan" so if it doesn't go with items that color we have a problem, Houston.

The style may be a bit off for your usual direction too -- looks like something I would wear -- since unlike a sheath it's a dress that's more personality-laden than blank slate.

I think you may have a much easier time with the blue dress that's on it's way to you....

I did see some other Suzy Chin styles that seem more like they might work with what you're showing (and if the green one would fly in your work environment, I'd guess these would too). Don't know if they appeal at all but thought I'd throw 'em out there!

ps FWIW I'd say your footwear/jackets would be great with both styles

To answer Angie's question, no, I'm not willing to buy more colors to make this work. As it is, I'm trying to pare down the size of the wardrobe, so that wouldn't make sense. Maybe someday I will find a similar style in lime or apple green, colors I already have in my wardrobe. In another life, I'd keep this dress to wear to parties sans layers, but that is my fantasy life. :T

I'll still give the other dress a chance, though. That one is more of a turquoise and should look better with tan, rust, etc.

Vix, you know me! I really liked #1 a lot, esp. with the citron detail - I almost bought that one instead - but I wanted to stick to my guns about wanting a column of color to go well with my cropped jackets.

I LUV this dress. I like it with the grey pin-stripe (although I think the structure of the jacket doesn't quite go) and I like it with the navy. I actually like it with the light tan slouchy boots.
