That burgundy skirt has proved to be such a workhorse of a wardrobe player that I decided to duplicate the skirt in charcoal gray as well. Like its wine-hued sister, the gray skirt is comfortable and versatile. Here's how I have been wearing it lately:

#1-3: Gray skirt, black dolman-sleeved sweater, black opaque hose, black low-heeled booties, cognac leather jacket, bronze beaded earrings, and gray, white, black, and cognac geometric-patterned scarf.

#4: Gray skirt, multicolored "puzzle" sweater featuring chartreuse and cobalt, chartreuse short pendant necklace, pewter loafers.

I wore the first outfit to meet B. downtown for lunch at an excellent Pierogi bakery, then we hosted a birthday dinner for my dad at our apartment. I cooked ham and broccoli crepes with a white wine & cheese sauce that turned out incredibly tasty, and my sister baked a mouth-watering sour cream & apple crisp.

The second outfit I wore to run some errands with B. on the weekend. However, I'd definitely wear both of these outfits to the office as well.

So far today I'm just bumming around the house in loungewear, decorating our Christmas tree, but tonight I'm joining my sister and her boyfriend to watch the Nutcracker. I haven't seen a live performance since I was very young, but grew up watching a taped recording of the Pacific Northwest Ballet's performance with Maurice Sendak's beautiful set design. The Peacock dance (a minute into the YouTube video) has always been my favorite. I'm very excited to see it again in person!
