Cileena, the only thing more perfect than your outfit was the way you handled the totally unjustifiable situation you found yourself in. You responded with class and grace, and I for one am really impressed! You have every right to feel hurt by the appalling comments directed at you...but you should also feel incredibly proud for rising above the situation and setting such a great example! Keep dressing and acting the way you do and I feel confident you'll triumph in the end.
P.S. A stained shirt is not ok, any time, any place. Unbelievable!

Cileena, just now jumping in.

I read your post and ALL the responses. You handled yourself with grace and took the high road. That took REAL class.

I'm still stunned about the comments these 'so-called 'ladies' made. Wow.
Why are some women so danged catty? Jealousy, boredom, stupidity?

Keep on being yourself. Sounds like they need to not only step up their fashion game, but learn some manners. Class, however, cannot be learned.

Cileena, I'm revisiting this thread because I have book club tonight and because of you, I am not going to bother dressing down as I normally would (for my own sake, not out of any pressure) before going. I've had people tell me they look forward to seeing what I'm wearing (even if they think I'm mad!), so your experience is even more irritating to me. And I'm going to bring up this topic to my book club to see what they say about it, since we both live in places that are generally very casual.
