I just tallied what I wore for Dec, Jan, Feb. Over three months I wore 54 items of clothing, plus 18 pair boots/shoes and 7 coats. I feel like this number is artificially high for two reasons: 1) I had a three day work conference so several dressier things got trotted out, worn once, and included in the total, and 2) we had some ridiculously warm days in the dead of winter, causing me to pull out things like a short sleeves tops and mary janes. Also I made an effort to wear dresses, and half of the ones I wore were worn once and then donated. Still, we all know by now I'm not a minimalist, so I guess I should just accept the numbers and not try to justify or minimize what I wore. I do like variety. My most worn items were my leather jackets (black worn 19 times, teal worn 12 times) and my black triple buckle short boots (worn 12 times). The most often worn top was a plain black cotton V neck jumper/pullover worn 5 times. I head meant to wear vests more often but only wore one four times in three months. Bah.
Spring! I want to lighten up. Try to incorporate some white into my wardrobe along with all the navy and black. I want to accent with purple and teal and focus on turquoise, malachite, and amber jewelry. I may may actually put away most of my cobalt and lapiz jewelry as an experiment. And I am seriously contemplating purchasing that Eileen Fisher but vest. If only it came in navy, I'd already have it.
