Good News for a change

I got a letter from my gastroenterologist asking me to schedule a colonoscopy. So I called, and guess what? It was a mistake! I don’t need one for two years. I was soooo happy! That really made my day.

Slim Cat, our teeth are so important, aren’t they? I’ve had two cleaning appointments cancelled. I don’t think my dentist is open yet.

Angie, Joy, thank you. The procedure isn’t that bad, but the preparation is TERRIBLE! So not having to do it is wonderful!

Cardiff girl, we can find good, bad or disappointing things in the back of the cabinet. My find was disappointing - yeast that had expired in 2012.

Xtabay, that is great news! Once, I bought a handbag at a thrift store, and found $20 in one of the pockets. That was good find.

Haha! That is good news. I agree the prep is way worse than the actual event although I wish I could be sedated next time. My good news? I finally got on the scale and I haven't doubled my bw after all. Weight is within tolerance. Pass the cookies!

After having my regular yearly mammogram canceled for the 2nd time, I finally got a date for June 1. Got the report (just fine) the next day! Alas, no forgotten cookie dough in my freezer, but I did buy more Snickers!!

Michigan’s Shelter-in-Place order was lifted about ten days early. That is my good news. Also, after weeks of effort, the darn scale is finally starting to move in the right direction.

My good news: After 2 months of waiting, I finally got the kettlebell I ordered so I can resume my workouts more productively. For the last two months I have been using a backpack stuffed with books!

For some reason, the beans I planted 4 weeks ago never came up. I replanted 10 days ago, and today saw the first signs of them breaking through the earth! All my ‘crops’ are up!

DD sent me a picture of her grad school report card, (mom bragging moment)....all but one grade was an A+, the remaining grade was an A. Also, DS just had his third in a series of interviews for a new job. He graduated only three weeks ago.....even if he doesn’t get the job, I am so happy that he made it to this stage of the interview process!

Suz, our son left a couple of kettleballs in our shed. I used to watch him out the kitchen window, exercising with them. It looks like good exercise.

Rumor has it we are getting a 4th employee in our produce department. That should make my job easier again.
Saw the reiki healer today. Got told to be back at least once a week. What does the reiki healer charge? I perform odd jobs: organizing books, helping clear walking trails in the woods (Mollie LOVES those days), and matching up all the random tagless keys. I don't think it gets much better than that

Excellent news JA! The colonoscopy prep is awful!

My dog had a lump on her face and my first thought, as with any lump, was cancer. It turns out it was a grass seed that had penetrated through her mouth. She had to have surgery to have it removed. It was migrating up her face. I’m sorry she had to have surgery (she just turned 9), but I’m SO glad it’s not cancer. She is recovering well. Best news.

I gave my first ever Zoom presentation to a photography group of about 50 people the other night. My topic was Frame of Mind: Creativity, Perception, and Mental Focus in Photography — a nice departure for the group to hear about mindful, contemplative approaches to photography rather than the usual technical how-to talks that seem to fill speaker series. It was well-received and I got lots of nice feedback afterward.

Oh, and today in our little container garden on our patio, I spied our first pepper!

Seattle just got some good news! We moved into a Modified Phase 1:

"King County (the city of Seattle) can move to a “modified Phase 1, in which restaurants can offer indoor dining at 25% of capacity and outdoor dining at 50% capacity. In-store retail can operate at 15% capacity, barbers and salons at 25% capacity and professional services like accountants and attorneys can return to their offices at 25% capacity"

"It also allows outdoor gatherings of five people or fewer, but that guideline has been essentially ignored in recent days, with public health officials offering their support of the mass protests that have brought thousands of people together"

Great news for Seattle/King County!! I found out on Tuesday that I am now vested in my company's pension plan. Also, I got the green light from my eye surgeon to resume Pilates practice, which I have really missed for 2 weeks.

JAileen and Andrea, I was in the downtown Seattle shopping area yesterday with Greg and Sam (6 blocks walk from where we live). Nothing is open, and there are no signs of re-opening despite the green light for a modified phase 1. Everything is boarded up to prevent window damage and looting while the protests continue. So even though things can open now with very, very restricted capacity - retailers, businesses, and restaurants are staying closed for longer.

Angie, that’s actually good to hear. I wonder when people will feel comfortable. I am almost in the high risk group, and my husband is in it, so I’m in no hurry to get back to normal.
