Hi all
It’s cooled down here. A little. Enough for boots
For Autumn/Winter 19 I’m concentrating on these colours:
*Copper, bronze, gold and tan,
*Dark teal.
Brown and golden tones are back in the stores in a big way here. I’m also seeing lots of teal.
These are some of my recent outfits using copper, bronze, gold and tan. All worn for social/casual wear. I’ll save teal for another post.
Outfit 1 (pics 1-2): A metallic copper top that I bought late last year. I mixed my metals pairing it with a silver grey metallic ombré bag. Pleather skirt, fishnets, layered black and white faux pearls, gold fleur de lis brooch worn as pendant and Isabel Marant gold cuff with grey stone inset to pick up the grey in the bag.
Outfit 2 (pic 3): My gold mesh Versace-ish top that I’ve shown before. This time I wore a red top underneath it (you can see it peeking out at the neckline). The idea was to give it a warmer, more bronze hue. I repeated the reddish tone in my dark burgundy boots. Gold cuffs, gold necklace, gold bag, gold lined asymmetric skirt and fishnets. ALGO! Meanwhile, I felt the outfit could have benefited from an ornate, pearl embellished, gold baroque handbag
Outfits 3 and 4 (pics 4-6): These old lace up Frye boots had been looking worse for wear but I restored them recently using a Tarrago shoe cream recommend by Vix. They came up a treat. Thanks Vix! So they are back on heavy rotation. Outfit 3 - mixed with other brown tones. Outfit 4 - mixed with black, white and grey. (Lace is undone in pic 4 - oops.) Both jackets are also older but are firm favourites. I bought the bronze patterned top in pic 4 with my BJ theme in mind. As well as the colour, I liked the intricate, old world-ish pattern. Also enjoying my bronze antique abalone button necklace, which seems to go with everything.
Outfit 5 (pics 7-8): Copying Vix (thanks again!), this time I wore the copper top as a sweater over one of my sleeveless Peruvian Connection dresses. I wore my vintage coin necklace, faux pearls and big gold cuff. I really enjoyed the layers of gold, copper and pearls over the ornate pattern of the dress. But it’s pretty obvious that I needed an ornate, pearl embellished, gold baroque handbag.
Outfit 6 (pics 9-10): Lunch and a movie on Mother’s Day. My mum likes me in colour and this is about as colourful as I get. Vintage Chanel necklace that I reserve for special occasions. Very 70s.
