Angie is the ultimate keeper, researcher and sharer of fashion, style, positivity and confidence boosting. I know I am in great company when it comes to appreciating Angie and YLF.
This forum is full of talented and knowledgeable people. We all have something to contribute. So, I ask what is something that you are good at? What is something you can share with others? What do people seek you out for?
I think my greatest offering is my enthusiasm, support and opinion, when asked for my thoughts on an item, outfit, color, fit, etc.
I could write a book called The Art of Camouflage. Seriously. I know what to play up, what to play down, what to gracefully mask and what to make a focal point.
I think I could give a decent tutorial on stacking bracelets, too.

So, Fabbers, over to you. What are you good at? Please share and then pat yourself on the back for jobs well done!

I'm good at helping people pin point WHY something is or isn't working for their style, and encouraging them that they CAN when they say that they can't. There are solutions to every fashion challenge, and together we will find them.

Angie, for many, understanding the WHY is really difficult. Fortunately you are able to identify and explain, thus new learning happens and people can apply that knowledge towards future selections. You are the ultimate expert when it comes to supporting , encouraging and promoting a CAN DO attitude!

Well I always try to be kind and welcoming to people. It's important to me that people feel genuine and confident in their outfits, instead of just buying something because it's trendy or looks great on someone else. So I like to start discussions that get to the "what's true for you (right now)."

Friends who hate to shop seek me out to find them particular items, and my specialty is second-hand. (Brick-and-mortar though, not so much online.) I have the time and patience, and relish the treasure hunt, and enjoy the triumph of a score for someone else just as much as for myself.

On the forum, my role is mainly as an appreciator of others' unique styles, finds, and creative and soul-searching journeys.

This is so fun! Mainelady, I would take a bracelet stacking workshop with you any day! Also, I think you could add something to your list of skills: Tutorials on how to grow out your grey gracefully and beautifully.

I am enjoying others' perceptive and interesting takes on their fashion forum superpowers, too!

When I am around here, I'm an enthusiastic cheerleader and problem-solver. But most of us are that!

Not too sure if there is anything specific I'm especially good at, though.

Hi friend Mainelady. It’s not a good day to ask me what my contribution to the forum is, sadly. I’m feeling criticised for responding as I did to Anchie, yesterday I think it was. Otherwise I think I would have said that I try to give thoughtful and helpful advice, which is exactly what I try to do in both my real life jobs as well.
Otherwise I enjoy giving the odd cheeky comment, though nowhere near the style of Cee on that front!
I will get over it of course. I’m sure it’s normal when you get a whole bunch of women commenting on each other’s outfits that you’ll get widely differing opinions and tastes. Angie does the most amazing job of keeping us all kind and positive as much as possible. And you’re a force for good and positivity too!
I love your concept of “happiness factors”. My shoes and earrings do the same for me x

We come here seeking advice, support, resources, guidance and so much more. Like a large family, not everybody is going to be on the same page all the time. It’s ok. Every book has many pages. Turn this one.

Mainelady, I am sure you have the best intentions. But please be aware that in several cultures (outside America ) it may not be common or easy for people to highlight their own strengths and assets. Many people humbly feel that things like this are best left to other people. 'Leave it to others to talk about you.'

No need to apologize to anyone, Mainelady. You're a positive person, making a positive contribution to a forum, which by definition is a place where we feel free to share our thoughts. If for some reason a person isn't comfortable with the uplifting topic you posted, that's on them, not you. I always enjoy your posts and hope you'll continue to do similar ones. Cheers to being positive and feeling good about ourselves in a world that frequently tries to drag us down and make us feel badly about ourselves.

LisaP and Anne, I am truly sorry my post caused discomfort or worse. The thoughts behind it were to credit and celebrate the diverse talents members bring to the forum. Everyone is a valued contributor and I am continually impressed by the genuine helpfulness of all.
I personally think it is great to recognize our strengths, as well as our challenges and also believe we can learn so much from each other (not just on this forum). My lense is often from an educational perspective. I did not intend to come across as insensitive or rude.

We have had threads that include sex, boobs,bras, transgenders, lingerie and politics, yet this thread may somehow make someone of a different culture uncomfortable??
To them I say ... move on to the next thread as I and others do if one is so offended.

I'd rather read a thread like this one than one where someone is beating herself up about her thighs or whatever body part she's mad at that week. Just saying. I'm feeling rather appalled at how this nice thread got subverted into making the poster feel badly.
