I debated with myself about whether or not to post this casual outfit, but I decided to go ahead because 1) I find it really really helpful when people post every day casual get ups, and 2) I learned some interesting things wearing this outfit.

It is cold cold cold (in the low 20sF, which I know is balmy to those of you further north, but for this California girl in Oklahoma, it is super duper cold), and the museum where I work is always frigid, and I knew neither my jeans nor my new pants were up to the challenge, so ... these are my figure skating trousers - fleece on the inside, zip ankles, slash pockets at the hips. And I'm wearing my lt blue warm-up fleece under a navy floral fleece jacket. Snakeskin print Docs on my feet and a blue beret complete the look. Yes I am wearing all of this inside the museum, plus fingerless gloves. I wasn't kidding about it being frigid in here.

Here's what I learned: I'm glad I haven't purged my skating clothing (I was a fairly serious ice skater/dancer for several years, but a broken wrist and then grad school got in the way) because it is useful stuff, and also, these are the best fitting, most flattering pants I own. Plus they are incredibly comfortable. I'm going to take measurements of these pants tonight and see about making some alterations in my "real" clothes.

Despite the fact that I'm basically wearing sporting gear, I think (I hope) this is appropriate for my very casual (and cold) workplace. Anybody else resort to gear to get through the north american cold snap?
