Gap cobalt moto again - which size?

If you remember I already asked you about this Gap cobalt moto here.
Mona's post about the same jacket got me thinking because angie said it was a right size for her and it fitted her very differently from how mine fitted.
I decided to order a Regular L size as well to compare - and it arrived today.
This is the difference in measurements;
- sleeve length - 1.5"
- back length - 1.5 "
- shoulder width - 1"
Now, the first 2 differences make sense but the last one? Now I understand why I was not sure about this moto in Tall - it is too big in the shoulders! It gave me a slight feeling of sloppiness, not just being fluid fit.

Here are the pictures of both sizes for comparison, 1,3,5 - Tall; 2,4,6 - Regular.
Unfortunately Tall Medium is not available I this color - actually this color is completely sold in Tall!

So I am afraid I have to get your opinion again: regular or tall? I guess you are getting sick of me and my cobalt moto
Here are my options:
- Regular;
- Tall;
- Tall for the body length but have shoulders taken in - this may also be enough to shorten the sleeves. This last option is of course the most involved so I would go for it only if it is definitely the best option for me.

I think the regular looks like it's a much better fit. That's a gorgeous color!

Actually, I think the Tall fits better. If you look at the pocket placement on the regular, everything seems just an inch or two too high. The sleeves on the Regular are also a touch short, IMO.

Hum... The regular looks better except for the length in the body. I can see your belt in pictures 2, 4 and 6, the regular length. That's probably not what you want.

If you really love the jacket, I would have the tall taken in at the shoulder, which would hopefully make the sleeves shorter. If you don't love it that much I think you should return it.

Is it just me or do these photos look reversed? I see longer in the first photo (so I assume tall) and shorter in #2. I must be batty!

I prefer the tall for the body length. The regular looks skimpy to me.

Pics 5 & 6 really demonstrate the difference between the two, and I far prefer the tall. You may not wear it closed all that often, but it seems noticeably short in the regular size when it is zipped.

Thank you for the feedback. I think I will talk to my mom and if she can get the shoulders taken in on tall to fit me better I will keep it.
It really bugs me that they changed the shoulder width between tall and regular in the same size - this is why it does not work for me in Tall!

Okay...another option -- is there seam allowance on the bottom of the regular length? You could let it down.

I still prefer the fit of the Tall from the photos. Sveta.

Angie's opinion sealed the deal: if my mom can take the shoulders in I am keeping the Tall. It does bother me that the shoulders are to big on me so the whole jacket looks sloppy - but length is better.

I really like where the Tall stops on you. The Regular leaves me wondering if it's supposed to be a cropped moto or just too short.

I wanted to add that I can totally relate to your frustration. I recently bought three jackets and I was torn between which size to get for every single one. We're so lucky to have a forum of fab and helpful girlfriends to help with these decisions, aren't we?
