First, thank you all for your very kind words. I am starting to feel pretty good about this upcoming event, thanks to all your help and a bit of organizing and sleuthing of my own, and I have a plan (of sorts).
Step 1: (already accomplished): Alert my Calgary friend that we are going shopping!
Step 2: As per Gaylene's advice, I will call Holts in Calgary and see what they might have.
Step 3: I am going to order the Jax dress that Diana linked to (thank you!) because there is zero risk; I can return it easily if it does not work.
Step 4: I know I said "no Nordstrom's" but then I found a dress there that might work. It is available at Amazon in another colour. My question is, which colour to order, navy or pink?

This, by the way, is the very same dress that Angie has in turquoise!
