Furry vest + white sneaks? - YouLookFab Forum

I have a couple questions on this combo..
There’s nothing white up top to pull things together with the white shoes, but that seems to be a thing. (I’m out of my comfort zone ) Does it work?

This flannel shirt is several years old and more of the shrunken look.. the length seems a little short too me, it’s about 2” above crotch point, and I typically try to shoot for 1” above.

These are a boyfriend fit jean..in fact they are men’s jeans that I had to buy when snowed in at NYC last year during the bomb cyclone. I’ve been wearing them cuffed all summer. This is the first time I’ve tried them full length. I’m curious if this combo might work better with a more fitted style?

And last...is it better without the furry vest?

With the vest, it looks more like an “outfit.” I like how the vest slightly echoes your hair texture.

Another who prefers with the vest. I am on the fence with the white shoes and this outfit. You have plenty of leg length, so they are not stumpifying, but the contrast calls attention to them. How do you feel wearing them? Your hair is gorgeous. You need cognac or this year's rust color for footwear.

I buy men's Levi's slim fit jeans as my slouchy/boyfriend fit jeans because they are comfy on my post menopause middle. They have a much higher back waistband than front, which is SO comfortable. I always turn up a cuff, just one turn, the width depends on the shoe I'm wearing and the inseam of the pants, but always good and wide. Sneakers, mules, or sandals in summer, ankle booties (sock booties) in winter. To be specific, they are Levi's 511 men's jeans, and I LOVE them.
I see it as the fur vest is calling for an ankle bootie, while the flannel shirt alone (with a front tuck, and maybe a belt peeking out?) works with the sneakers and a generous cuff turn-up.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Im trying to play with some of these pieces that have been languishing in my closet for a while.
This made for a very cozy day, I have to admit.
Unfortunately, I’m stuck with sneakers for footwear for now due to some knee/back issues. I’m on the look out for some dark ones, but have to look beyond the usual suspects bc of my shoe size and tricky fit issues. I used to have some cognac boots that did bookend my hair well..maybe I could find a sneaker along those lines! We’ll see what the hunt turns up.

I think a brighter top—something that is closer to the brightness of the shoes—would work.

For me, if there's an "off" factor, it would be the seasonal misalignment of the dark furry vest (cold weather)with white sneakers(warm), but I realize that may sound narrow minded.

The vest is awesome on you! I think it works fine with the sneakers but I'd like it even better with a bootie.

I'm into the furry vest! Really adds something. I would be wanting more matchy shoes, but that's just my preferences talking. I'd be wanting to match your hair or pick out one of the shirt colours.

Thanks for all the furry vest votes. I love it just as much..it may be one of those things that I never edit out, bc it’s got a high sentimental factor for me. I’m going to have to bring it out more often, with all this enthusiasm for it!

The jeans are pretty comfortable..they are in the good enough camp for me. Which is sometimes the best that can be done in between the great ones when they take extra time and effort to find.
I do have some suede cognac booties that I’ll have to pull out when my body begins firing on all cylinders again. I sometimes worry that they don’t go with an outfit bc I don’t wear that shade, but all these comments have reminded me about the bookending concept! Thanks everyone for all the input!
