Please don't ask me to explain my cardigan.
I know.
It's ridiculous.
I spotted it at a little vintage boutique while shopping with a friend* last October and I HAD to have it.
I'm pretty sure it's handmade.
It may very well be cashmere. (!)
It's totally impractical.
I mean just try stuffing it under even the roomiest outerwear.
I have no idea how it fits with Fishermancore.
(But it kinda works?)
My husband haaaaaates it.
But it brings me joy.
And I just happened to be wearing it today.
So I thought I would join in!

*(We were shopping for dressy clothing for that cocktail attire event in December that I mentioned and that Suz and Angie have both kindly asked about. I will pull together some pics of what I ended up wearing -- not this! -- soon, pinky swear. But, I think the joy of this cardigan is also bound up in the happiness of that event I was shopping for, if that makes sense.)

I think the texture makes the cardigan fisherman core. The colors are bright and fun, sure to spark joy!

I adore that cardigan! It's just the kind of sweater I would fall for, too, and find irresistible. It's extra fun with the striped tee. I think a thick, handknit cardigan is very much in keeping with fisherwomancore.

Surely it would fit under a roomy rain slicker worthy of seafaring.

OMG!!! It’s FABULOUS! It is totally handknit. And the yarn probably cost gobs of money (I mean GOBS) because it’s hand dyed yarn to boot. What a score!

Re Fisherwoman vibe. It’s more colorful than your mood board. However, Scandinavian fashion tends to be shot through with color from what I know. I’m acquainted with a Norwegian color analyst and knitter. The Norwegians and other Scandi countries love doses and sprinkles of color. And they tend to mix traditional with very fashion forward quite readily. The current trend in the summers is for women to wear floral “Little House On The Prairie” type dresses with sneakers, per my Norwegian acquaintance.

Not ridiculous at all but pretty and funny! Looks very cozy and warm. You could wear it as outerwear when the wheater permits. The fact that the cardi sparks joy because you bought it in a happy moment makes perfect sense to me.

I think it is gorgeous, and not just in a fun way. It actually looks kind of quality.

I would absolutely be wearing that all the time, as well. For me, it recalls the early days of boho. Like what the girls would be wearing to the farmers market in the 60s and 70s.

I can visualize this over a full skirt in wine corduroy (or another solid colour) and a high neck blouse with a bit of lace for an ‘on the moors’ vibe.

Runcarla oooooh I love that outfit idea. I actually recently acquired a high-necked lacy blouse if you can believe it. I don't have a long corduroy skirt but I think my black/navy plaid linen midaxi might work. I'll try it!!
