I gave in to the “last pair available—place your order NOW” messages and ordered them all. It won’t ship out for a couple days, so I think I could still cancel. If you have terrible things to say about any of these companies, either their end products or their production practices, please let me know!
The find is from last year, the one that got away. Given how slowly my tastes change, it is still my ideal. Picking shoes to order, I let my maximalism out to play. I mostly went for broad straps, but broad in a luxe kind of way, not like trail shoes (although they do need to be comfortable enough to walk for miles, including on uneven surfaces). Those are cutouts on #6; #2 is the only pair without embellishment. #1 might make me feel like I’m trying to be a Chi O; I don’t want to feel like I’m reaching for anything. #3 might make me feel like I’m trying to be part of Berlin’s autonomous culture & the toes might be too pointy; if the band on #4 isn’t the perfect length, I will walk out of them, and there might be too many closures on #5. So I’ll try them all.
I want them to be very versatile, to go with shorts, dressy and playful sundresses, white pants, patterned pants & skirts of various lengths.
