ZOMG, Kari! I need to go to the tailor TOMORROW and get my polka-dot blouse so I can wear it with my yellow skirt a la Wardrobe Oxygen!!

Joy, you are so sweet. I'd love to see more of your looks. I've found your posts on the Picture Perfect challenge to be such a visual treat and very inspiring.

MaryK, I can see you rocking this very well!
Actually, I'm really tempted to wear my black & white silk top with my magenta pencil skirt tomorrow... hmmm...

Kari, thanks for keeping this thread alive. Your yellow skirt outfits are fab and inspirational!
MaryK, I hope your next yellow skirt outing will get immortalized here!:-)
Joy, this thread will not be complete without your outfits!

Sveta, at the risk of 100% hijacking your thread - I'm sorry, but I'm on a roll and am bookmarking this thread as a "favorite" so I can return for future inspiration - I also wanted to share two other bloggers I stumbled upon that had really cool outfits with yellow pencil skirts:

Oh Kari, I LOVE that yellow skirt with a zebra retro coat!
BTW, this is not "my" tread, this is "yellow raisin" skirt thread!:-) - so feel free to hijack it as long as you post pictures or links.

This is great! Thanks Sveta, Kari, Jenava and MaryK! I am so inspired by your outfits, and I can't wait to see Joy's versions. I am really loving this skirt...can't wait for the cooler weather!

Wait no more!
Here are some of my hot weather outfits with this skirt.
1. with Sweet Pea top from last year over yellow tank
2. with recent Olivia Moon sheer top from Nordies over yellow tank
3. with Hinge denim vest from last year over white tank
4. with Sandra Ingrish polkadot blouse from early spring
5/6. same as #4 except for red belt and shoes and added sleeveless jacket from last summer. I also like this jacket over a simple white tank but didn't get a photo.
Please give me your comments and suggestions for what works and what doesn't and what I can do to improve these outfits.

Oh, Joy these are fabulous!! I LOVE LOVE #3, so cool! I adore your sandals in #2, and you've got some great color pairings here. All of these work to me, and work so very well

OMG, Joy! These are amazing - every single one of them! Outfit #3 really makes me flip. You are really rocking this skirt. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing these!

I am JUMPING for JOY!

I also love the links that Kari has been posting, not to mention her amazing outfits! And all the rest of the outfits, too. Jeneva's great red sweater pairing from our challenge...so amazing.

Yellow is probably my absolute WORST colour. But I could wear it as a skirt!

Can't believe I forgot to post my favorite J. Crew copycat look from this thread: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....rd-copycat!

Joy, these are fabulous! The silver sandals and the polka-dot blouse have me over the moon! You look wonderful, and I am taking notes on how to style a bright skirt.

Thx for posting :).

Great set of looks with a yellow skirt everybody! I enjoy each and every outfit. I am a bit partial to the contrast of the light yellow color with a darker top, especially when paired with black, gray or blues. I never would have thought a yellow skirt could be so versatile.

MaryK, you look AMAZING! #s 1 and 3 are my favorite. So cute!! I love the outfits!

This outfit on FutureLint is also pretty cute: http://futurelint.blogspot.com.....encil.html

It is cute - thanks for posting!

On Joy's request!

Ladies, I have been wishing to buy this skirt for . . . forever. Yellow is my very favorite color and this just makes my heart sing every time I see it on one of you. Oh you are all so beautiful in it!! But I have hesitated this long because I'm just not sure it will work on my apple-y body. There must be some other apples wearing this but i think you are all skinnier than me--i wear size 12-14 in most skirts. Will the bottom taper in and make me look like a fat carrot balancing on its tip? And I tend to like my skirts just slightly longer than my knee--is there any hem on this to let out? And does it really run large as it says on the site?

Sorry so many questions but my desire for this skirt just will not let up, no matter how much I fight it . . .

It definitely runs large. I bought a size smaller than my usual size and it fits perfectly. And it's reasonably long and the hem is about an inch.

With free shipping and returns, why not give it a try?

Samar, I think this skirt is my all-time favorite NAS purchase! I think you should definitely give it a try; I've seen it look so good on so many different body types. The skirt does run big and it does run fairly long. I first tried it on in a regular size and I think it came to the middle or bottom of my knee. I decided that I would most likely be wearing this skirt in the cooler weather with boots and tights, so I ended up buying it in petite for a shorter look. I'm 5'6" and the petite is not all that short on me. I hope you give it a try - would love to see it on you!

Okay you fashionistas have me wanting a yellow seamed skirt and I DON"T even like yellow. I love all of the color combinations from the bright to the neutral.

No wonder I love this site so much.

One more for the records...pink and yellow! Inspired by J. Crew, but in the catalog it was worn with a bright coral red belt. I don't have a belt that color but if I did I'd totally add it.

Jenava, that is beautiful! I like how the brown jacket softens the pink, in a way - it makes the outfit look very cohesive and light, not too pastel-y.

Adding this old set of photos to the thread in light of the renewed interest in the yellow raisin skirt. According to Joy, it's now on sale at Nordstrom's for $39.90! I really love this skirt!
