Footwear with BF jeans

We are having a grey, overcast morning which is prompting me to wonder what shoes to wear with BF jeans once the weather turns. I've been eyeing the heeled oxfords in the store but am wondering if those will work. What kind of footwear will you be wearing to transition the BF jeans to fall? Penny loafers? Ballet flats? boots?

If anyone has visuals, I'd love to see them.

Oxfords have been a go-to for me with these. I'm wondering how I'm going to winterize BFs with boots that can handle snow!

Angie wore hers with pumps! So pumps with heels or wedges are an option.

I think they work well with oxfords, too.

So far I have worn mine with my Report booties.

When the weather gets worse, I will wear them with my Doc Marcies. Those aren't great for actual SNOW but can be worn in rain and cooler temps.

When it gets snowy, I don't have a clue. Probably I'll just wear my skinnies more often.

I think those oxfords would work! I'm going to wear my oxfords with my BF jeans, although my oxfords are a bit more streamlined than those heeled ones. I also like wearing my Dr. Martens Marcies with the BF jeans.

Low-heeled ankle boots, like the Report Marks or those Sam Edelman's that Angie recommended last week. Oxfords too, although I think I would prefer a bit of a heel.

@Una: I haven’t seen them with your oxfords. I’m going to have to go back and look at your posts.
@Suz: I’m not so much of a pump/wedge person but I love the idea of the Reports and the slim ankle of the Marcies!
@Cathy: I like the heeled oxfords--I think I’m just unsure of the teal color with the denim. Another vote for the Marcies--wish I had something like that!
@Laura: Yes, I need a bit of a heel otherwise I feel kind of schlumpy

If I had flat oxfords, that's what I'd wear. With no socks. Or socks that don't show.

Since I have not yet found the right pair of flat oxfords, I wear my Chuck Taylors (low-top Converse in black, with white rubber toes). I prefer socks that are cut below the ankle, so you barely see them.

I think they could also work with the right pair of heeled booties, but you'd have to try them on to see. I think the top of the bootie would need to be at about ankle level, and the heel would need to be chunky.

Kelly, don't you have something similar to the Miz Mooz Hannah motorcycle boot? I wonder how the BF jeans would look over those type of boots but rolled up a bit to show off the lacing, if you know what I mean. I'm going to try that with my Hannahs

@Elisabeth: Thanks! I think you are right about the ankle height. I'm not sure that I could pull of the chucks at my age without getting serious eyeroll from DD's. I tend to wear chucks with bootcuts only. I hear you on no or low contrast socks--I think that's one of the things I find problematic with the rolled up hem and cooler temps.
@Cathy: That's a possibility. I hadn't thought of that option. Although, because the hem is tapered, I may not be able to fit them over the boot shaft. There's not a whole lot of room in that leg opening. I can fit a boot under the hem unrolled though--just not sure if it looked quite right. I hope you post pics of your experiment. I have already worn:
booties
heeled oxfords

They work really well with bf jeans especially if you have some flexibility with the rolled length. You can adjust it to get it just right with each pair of shoes. The Report Marks with the dip in front work exceptionally well.

I plan on wearing mine with leopard print slip-ons, Frye oxfords and I just ordered a pair of the Report Marks booties. Once the snow starts to fly, I'll probably put the BFs away in favor of skinnies/straights and knee boots.

I think those heeled oxfords you're thinking about would work wonderfully!

Kelly, I truly don't believe there is an age limit on Chuck Taylors. I bet even a hip 80-year-old granny could pull them off! I'm sure they would look just great with your rolled up BF jeans, although I do see your point about the impracticality of that look in cooler temperatures. I don't wear my BF jeans in the dead of winter for that reason.

I'm planning to wear mine with my flat oxfords. I'm also looking at some heeled oxfords for fall, and if I get a pair, will definitely wear them with my BF jeans.

I also want to try wearing them with my mid-calf boots (probably the lace-ups or my new Frye Veronica shorties) but need to experiment a bit with tucking/rolling/etc.

Im not wearing BF's but I like to see ankle boots, ballet flats, pumps or oxfords. I think there are a lot of options.

I think they would look good with your BFjeans.it would give you a little height. Have you posted a pic in your boyfriend jeans?

I'm a forum newbie, so please forgive the unprofessional look of this, but I was planning on wearing my paddock boots with my boyfriends. My BFs are new and I've only worn them with summer footwear, so when I saw this post I went into my closet and took some photos of what I'm thinking. I'd love your feedback. Kelly, I seem to remember a post from you, in spring possibly? Where you paired rolled up pants with all sorts of booties and wedges. I remember how great they all looked.

I'm planning to wear mine with a pair of boots similar to what geargirl showed, but mine have a chunky 2 in heel. I like the slim ankle fit of the boot with all the volume of the pants.

@Anne: Love the idea of the leopard print. No chance of snow flying around here--so I plan on wearing them a lot during the winter.
@Elisabeth: I totally agree about the chucks. I just feel self conscious wearing them along with my daughters--those are their go to shoes these days.

@geargirl: I think those look awesome. Your boots are nice and fitted at the ankle and the height of the roll obscures any sock issues. I really like that look!
@Traci: Arghh! I totally forgot about that post. I didn't wear it much. Those BF jeans are much less slouchy than the ones I bought from the Gap--I think that's what makes me thing they are a totally different animal. You are right though, I think either one of those shoes will work with the current BF! Thanks for reminding me that I don't have to go buy another pair of shoes.

I've discovered for me that I need a heel with my BF's or I feel "off" somehow. So heeled oxfords and Doc Marcie's for sure.

Pumps, for sure! And my shortest booties! I also think my high heeled oxfords are going to be great with the BFs.

Shannon, it's funny because for summer I was surprised to find I really liked flat (or nearly flat) sandals with the BFs. I'm kind of regretting having purged my flat oxfords because they would have been great, too.
