Grey knit top with white and taupe floral print. Navy slouchy pants from the activewear section. Worn at home with thongs and red loafers (not shown) for a walk in the park later. No bag as none needed for just keys and phone. (Photo brightened up to show the slouchy folds and pockets; not contracted jaundice IRL.)

Not the most patriotic lead-in to Independence Day (for India) but this curious pairing represents a three-fold sense of personal freedom for me:
1. Freedom from traditional rules of matching: This top is slightly dressier (at least in my wardrobe) than the yoga gear-ish pants.
2. Freedom from the tyranny of too-good-to-wear: A year ago I would have thought the top too nice to waste on schlepping around the house and chosen a t-shirt instead.
3. Freedom from rules of figure flattery: This cuts my short self in half. Does not disguise my tummy or cankles. But feels so comfy both physically and psychologically--higher priorities to me just now.

HOWEVER, I would still love any critiques and suggestions you can throw at it. I am here to learn to dress better.
