Hello to all you lovely ladies!

I mentioned on my post on 'buying basics' yesterday that I usually wear prints. My style is 'Comfortably Dressy' so I tend to wear comfortable knits a lot...and pretty prints keep them from looking overtly casual. So I thought I'll show you guys some of the things I've been wearing this summer.

This summer has been record-breaking hot as temperatures have gone up to 47 deg C (almost as hot as Dubai) yet homes in India do not have central air conditioning as of now. I suspect all new buildings will now have central cooling because honestly, a non-air conditioned bathroom & kitchen are hell! We have AC units all over the house but not in kitchen & loos. I turn on the one in whatever room me & the dogs are sitting in, and that's always at 23 deg C, but I do have to move around the house to get a glass of water, fix lunch, open the door, dump a load of laundry in the WM etc....so I primarily dress for comfort.

And while everyone around me is fussing and fuming about the heat ---- wearing real old sloppy clothes, I've decided to take a stand and brave it out in style. Why not?! I can't change the temps, but do I HAVE to look miserable too? I sure do not!

#1-4: One of the comfiest yet stylish silhouettes I wear very often. This is just a pretty tshirt (I love florals) worn with a knit jersey mini skirt. Almost feels like I'm wearing nothing....honestly. The wedges are super comfy. I love this shade of grey with pinks & purples. I wore this outfit for a casual dinner out with friends. Everyone wondered how I could look 'dressed up' in the heat....until I let them touch the fabric and see that all I'm basically wearing is a tee for my top & bottom both I'm adding additional photos to show you my bag & necklace.

#5-6: This is a tshirt dress cut in a fit & flare style. It's essentially like wearing a tee...and so breezy & comfy. Yet it looks quite cute. I have this style of dress from Dorothy Perkins in 5 designs and I wear them regularly for my everyday life.

#7-8: My sister bought this dress last year but never wore it. Said this is a dress only someone pregnant should wear! While I agree that the fitted bust and flowy flared skirt might read as 'maternity wear' for some, I do love the print. I took the dress from her & I call this my Happy Frock...and I do not care if ppl think I'm pregnant when I wear it. This is another simple dress that's easy to wear anytime, anywhere.

#9-10: This top has landed into my donation bag more times than I can remember. I know beige washes me out and is NOT a good color on me, yet I keep hanging onto this knit top Coz it works so well with simple skirts. I've paired it here with a basic, lightweight printed cotton skirt that's not lined, but also not see through. Very comfy. I'm wearing this today as I sit here sipping on my Iced Tea With Watermelon Chunks (pic #11).

Thanks for looking! I hope you're all staying cool, comfy yet stylish this summer too!
